NeilSafford, AZAge: 55-65Gender: Male5 Stars Out Of 5Very GoodJuly 17, 2013NeilSafford, AZAge: 55-65Gender: MaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4This review was written for The New Interpreter's One-Volume Commentary on the Bible. This commentary is very good and sometimes offers insight not noticed by either myself or other commentators. The quality of commentary is nearly identical (but different authors) with the HarperCollins commentary. I expect the theology to have more of a Wesleyan slant (because it is published by Abbingdon Press) but I haven't yet noticed such a slant. The comments are a bit brief for my taste. Yes, I am asking a lot from a one-volume commentary.

Lattie Collins5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent referenceSeptember 9, 2011Lattie CollinsQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for The New Interpreter's One-Volume Commentary on the Bible.I have been using the multi-volume Interpreter Bible since my college days in the 1950's. In my opinion it is the "gold standard" of Bible commentaries. But it is surely not portable. The One-Volume version is much more usable, and it's content is just as adequate as the multi-volume version for most situations. This is a serious reference for serious students of the Bible. Highly recommended.
