Hartley is a respected and talented conservative scholar. In many ways this is the best one volume commentary on the Book of Job. It is both scholarly and accessible. It is detailed without losing sight of the main message. Hartley interacts with alternative viewpoints when appropriate, but manages to avoid doing so in a distracting way. This book contains good, helpful, solid, information from a moderately conservative perspective. It is highly recommended.
