Apologia Educational Ministries Exploring Creation with General Science, 2nd Edition, Full Course CD-ROM, Version 8.0
Exploring Creation with General Science Full-Course CD-ROM is not a supplement, but a full science course for grades 7-8. Appearing just like a website, the course runs in Internet Explorer, and features easy navigation that allows the user to jump to any module and section of the course. Animations, videos, word pronunciation and other multimedia features are included that would not be available with the regular text. Just like the book course, household-item experiments, tests, and study guides are included in each module.

It seems to have everything that the books and CDs have, but it's all in one place and very user friendly. And most importantly, my kids are loving it and learning a lot!

This product is awsome. I bought this for my 7th grader this year. I love that she can put on the CD. Read the text and take notes. Set up the experiments herself with household items and then teach my younger kids about the experiment and what she learnend. IT is a time saver for me so I can homeschool the other kids and still have her get a quality science lesson with a Christian perspective.

We are using the CD Rom for our to junior high kids.
I like it, except the vocabulary used is hard to follow or read.
Reads like an adult encyclopedia, not a conversational narrative.
Other than that, it is good.

This product is amazing!! My daughter has changed her favorite subject to science now. I love this curriculum because of creation-based approach and my daughter loves it because she thinks she is having fun instead of learning!

I am pleased with the experience of using the cd version of the curriculum. We have been using it about two weeks. My kids are excited and enjoying their science so far and it doesn't have the tedious feel of a textbook to them. This is our first "formal" science curriculum as we have used living books and life experience for science until this year. So it is a big deal that they are enjoying it.
My only complaint so far is that the sections of each module are not numbered sequentially and it is difficult to write on my children's assignment list what they should cover on a given day. The course is divided into Modules and each module has about 14 "parts or sections". Each section has a title of sorts but nothing like Module one - section one; Or Chapter 1a, Chapter 2a, etc. It is therefore confusing to direct my kids where to go next without having to put the disk into the computer and run it and then locate the specific place they left off. This would be such a simple improvement and seemingly very easy to implement and immensely helpful for navigation.

I searched several sites for this product and this price just couldn't be beat. Sometimes even the ones that were used, were more money than this.

As a flight test engineer, now teaching my own children at home and science labs at a local homeschool co-op, I wholeheartedly recommend this curriculum. It not only provides a thorough, sound coverage of topics for this level, but it uses easily found supplies for the experiments. The experiments are non-complicated, but elegantly show the concepts taught in the text. This is a 5-star winner! Not only that, but it retains the students' interest throughout the entire year. They were clamoring to come back after the semester break!

Used last year with 7th grader. Started out overwhelmed as material was very advanced. Took a couple of modules to get adjusted and ended the school year with a BANG! Still daughter wanted to try something different for 8th grade so we tried other science curriculum but it could not compare! Apologia is by far a MUCH better science curriculum, clearly written and easy to understand. Ordered the Physical Science and anxious to get started! Will work on Vista too!

I am not computer savvy so I was a little worried - but this Apologia is so easy to run! It is simple to use which means quicker learning for my children. And Apologia always does a great job teaching. 5 Stars from me.

Absolutly fabulous, we purchased the disk to save postage, my homeschooled son aged 12 said it is fantastic.He takes notes as he reads it. We made a hard copy onto the harddrive to make sure the disk is keep in order, it is easier for him as he can just click on the file and it is there. The experiments are easy/affordable and very impressive. Great to have science from a true chistian persepective. You wont be disappointed!!!!!

The material is very advanced and rather dry at times. Ideal for students who both enjoy and excel in science. Though recommended for 7th grade seems more appropriate for older students. Will probably use a different curriculum next year.
