An extremely thorough commentary set, with a sizeable price-tag. I use the Holman NIV commentary set, crossway ESV study bible, and MacArthur commentary set as I study the word. These books are compelling me, for the first time in my life; with an enthusiasm for reading the word of God (this was hindered in the past due to my inability to interpret some scripture). I am EXTREMELY grateful for the blessings that that these texts provide, i.e., in-depth and understandable analysis, contemporary language (as opposed to Calvin, Poole, Henry, etc.), supporting scripture, etc.

Above all other commentaries this is my favorite. He breaks down each verse for meaning for wonderful worship. His love and desire to share the meaning of God's word will truly bless each reader. I received the set sooner than expected. Great buy !!!

praise be to GOD for giving us such a gifted and committed pastor as our brother John MacArthur. he is committed to teaching the word of GOD and interprets scripture with scripture.i am very grateful for his commentary set it has been such a useful resource in studying GOD'S word.i highly recommend this commentary set to any christian brother who is seeking to learn GOD'S word.

Words fail me as to how informative, enlightening and helpful in understanding the Word these commentaries are. Thank you, John MacArthur, for your dedication in pursuit of God's Word and sharing your 1,000s of hours of study with me and others. I have the complete set and eagerly await each new volume. It is my Reference Set for the Word. The words in these commentaries are worth many times the cost.

MacArthur commentaries are by far one of the best available if not the best. Not only does he explains the verses simple enough to understand but he also dissects the verses in several parts thoroughly explaining all aspects of the Word giving the correct meaning that is intended in that particular verse. He has Gods word written as he is giving his commentary so you do not to go back and forth to your Bible as many commentaries lack. The price might seem high just for the NT but sold a full set of John Phillips commentaries to get this and have no regrets. I cannot wait until Mark is available and if ever the Lord allows the OT. All praises to the Holy Spirit giving this man through obedience the understanding of Gods word enabling it to be shared to whoever desires.
