This book is such an encouragement! My step family life is a process, slow maybe, but at least I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel. This book provides info on different situations that may arise and gives you the tools to deal with them! I feel like Ron Deal has secretly been watching my family and knows exactly what I'm going through! I will be sharing this book! It's a lifesaver, or should I say marriage/family saver!

Quite simply, The Smart Stepfamily is possibly the most important resource I could recommend for anyone who is either experiencing difficulties in a stepfamily situation, or for those who are contemplating or are committed to becoming a a stepfamily.
Ron Deal's message is unmatched in it's relevance, as well as it's delivery.
Please, do yourself, and those you love, a huge favor. Read this book. Even better, see if your church offers a small group study on The Smart Stepfamily.
I read the book and watched the videos as part of a small group study at Celebration Church in Jacksonville, FL, and can't recommend these materials more highly.

Laura Grant
A wonderful, practical book with sound advice that can be applied to traditional families as well as step-families. It has definitely made me aware of some challenges that step-families face that I hadn't previously considered. I would recommend this book to anyone considering remarriage with children!

As a step-mother of six (ages 5-18) I would HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who is even considering marriage. Given the heartbreaking statistics of divorce in this country the chances that one might become part of a blended family are so much greater. Also, as a small group leader at my church, I feel that it would be a great ministry tool for the unique family situations we find in our churches today.
