I have used Forward's guide to help plan a dozen or more international mission trips. He is excellent in thinking through the ENTIRE picture - not just the administrative stuff, not just the team preparation stuff, but all of it. He is good at explaining his reasoning for suggestions so the uninitiated mission trip organizer doesn't have to learn the hard way. The publication is a bit dated and could stand a modernization - particularly in reference to how international travel has changed post-9/11 and in the web 2.0 era. Nonetheless it remains the only comprehensive handbook I have found.
