What can one even say about a book like this? What an amazing story of true redemption and grace. This book had me laughing, crying and celebrating the life of Adam Brown. While this is a adult book, this topic can and should be discussed with teens. This book left me inspired and humbled all at the same time. I hope we all live a life that can leave such a legacy. A must read even if you disagree with the politics.

Review 2 for Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team Six Operator Adam Brown
Fearless by Eric Blehm is an inspirational book about the life of Adam Brown. It reminds us that just being a good kid doesn’t mean that we will become good adults. Also to stay strong in our faith and that one choice could change our lives forever.
Adam was a high stung kid who always helped other people. As he grew older he played on the football team and did other crazy things such as jumping into (not out of) trees and jumping off of bridges into rivers. During high school Adam started doing drugs. He stole from people to feed his drug addiction. When Adam was 22 his parents turned him over to the police and sent him into a drug rehab program. Adam later said “Watching my mother crying so hard my father had to hold her up was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.” Adam would start doing drugs again then stop, then start again. It’s like he kept going up to down over and over again. Every time he did drugs he would run off, go to some crack house or hide out at one of his druggie friend’s houses. Once he was running away from his girlfriend when he got on a plane to Texas to see his friend Jeff. His friend Jeff convinced Adam to become part of the navy and while he wanted Adam to become a bomb diffuser Adam was shooting for something bigger, a SEAL.
I would not recommend this book to people with a low amount of maturity or lack of knowledge about the world. Mostly because there are too many drug references to count and there are quite a few times when someone cusses. There are also many ideas for someone young and immature to try such as jumping into trees.

I read Fearless with a biased opinion, it wasn't really what I expected I was expecting more on what they actually do, But other than that I really liked the in depth look into his life, and how his belief in his God would help him stand strong when he believed he couldn't go on any more. He showed the camaraderie of his team. For me he made those guy a little more real and solid. I immensely enjoyed the book.
I was given this book in good standing for a fair and honest review

Review 4 for Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team Six Operator Adam Brown
Fearless is the story of a man named Adam Brown- and how he went from adventurous child to daredevil teen, from drug-addict adult to a man with a goal: becoming a Navy SEAL. Adam was described as fearless by everyone who knew him, and his courage and determination were fueled by his faith, his wife, and his family. This is his story. Fearless is the type of book that you will not soon forget. This is the kind of book everyone needs to read. Review 5 for Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team Six Operator Adam Brown
I want to state up front that I did break my rule to read and review this book. I state under the header of my blog that I will not accept books with swearing in them. However, my husband (who is ex-Navy) read this before I did and based on his and my sister's recommendations I decided to go ahead with this book. The swearing is not extreme (though certainly way more than I like), and some of the worst words just have the first letter and a line to complete the word. That said, I'll move on to the actual review.
This is a very powerful book. Adam Brown was a man with many personal demons who overcame incredible odds to eventually become a member of the elite SEAL Team Six. This is a no-holds-barred, brutally honest story of his life--his failures and successes. There is plenty of swearing, drinking, drugs, etc so I would not recommend this book for kids (including teens) without the parents checking it out first. From a drug addict with multiple arrests to an Navy SEAL, Adam lived life full-out. He didn't know the meaning of the word quit. Towards the end of the book someone states that Adam "surrendered only once, and that was to Jesus Christ." ...well, except all the times he surrendered to the call of drugs. That part really broke my heart. This couple is supposed to be sold-out christians who know that even though he's now kicked the habit, he'll fight cravings for the drug all of his life. They know that if Adam drinks, his willpower drops and that's when he usually falls to the drug again, but instead of staying away from alcohol, he still goes to bars and partys and puts a one beer limit on himself--which he doesn't always stick to. It broke my heart that some of the awful times they went through could have possibly been averted from staying away from anything that might bring it on. Please don't think that I'm denigrating them or their story. I'm just being honest.
The book starts off a litte slow, but certainly doesn't stay that way. No book about this guy could stay slow and boring! He never did anything halfway, but barreled ahead at full speed no matter what the danger was, and it definitely took a toll on his body with multiple injuries, any one of which would have given him a medical discharge no questions asked. Adam, however, refused to quit. He overcame injuries that NO ONE would have thought he could overcome and even stay in the military, but he went on and AFTER these injuries passed the brutal tests to be a part of DEVGRU (SEAL Team Six). An inspiring story that I recommend only with the reservations on language.
"I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review."
Before SEAL Adam Brown went to the battle field, he asked that if he died his story be told. All of it. He wanted people to know what his life was like before Jesus. This man whose story of how he physically excelled in the training was amazing enough without the story of his past. Adam Brown, Christian, Husband, Father, SEAL, was a former cocaine addict, in a hole so deep the reader is afraid for him and his family. When he came out of the hole he understood the prodigal son in Luke Fifteen, in a way some of us never will. I tend to read the prodigal son cleaned up- minimizing the dirt and pain of the son, and thereby minimizing the Grace of the Father who takes him home. Adam rips the "cleaned up" cover off the story, and shows us a prodigal son in a deep pit, afraid of dragging his loved ones in and yet unable to get out alone. It makes us realize that we are not clean, good hearted prodigals. We are the dirty ones, addicted to sin, we are the ones in need of Grace. We are the ones who have received the same Grace that God gave Adam for the same reason. We need it. Adam would be the first to tell us the choices he made were made without wisdom, that could have taken his life and he would be the first to point us to Christ, who saved him in a jail cell and showed him the love of his Fathers again. His Heavenly Father who welcomes him back with loving arms, and his earthly father, who came to Christ because of Adam's battle against the drug that sought to claim him, body and soul. We also meet Kelley, Adam's wife- a help meet fit for him. Her story is one of selfless devotion- from the nightmare of searching for her Adam in crack houses, to their honey moon days when he was training to be a SEAL, she went through late night uniform ironing and early morning breakfasts to push Adam on to his goal. Her prayers carried him before God, and she encouraged him that he had more to give. The details of the drug use and some stories in here about Adam's life before Christ are so scary I cannot give this book to anyone under the age of eighteen at least. The details of the training for the SEALs are awe inspiring- the human body is amazing. God designed us to take so much and keep on pushing forward. This is important to keep in mind, considering how Paul compared the Christian to a Soldier, and we have a Kingdom to Advance.
Thank you to Kelley and Adam's friends for telling his story. God protect out military and draw them to Himself. In Jesus' name Amen

Review 10 for Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team Six Operator Adam Brown
Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team SIX Operator Adam Brown by Eric Blehm is about the story of Adam Brown, a kid from Arkansas who was extremely proud of his state. He wasn't the biggest kid, but he had the biggest heart who saved a boy with Down Syndrome from being bullied, obeyed his parents even if it got him picked on by his friends and was always doing crazy stunts. He was always well-liked and respected. Eventually, he got into drugs and ultimately landed in jail. One day, he met the woman who would be his future wife and between her, his parents and God, he got clean with just a few relapses. He decided that he wanted to go into the Navy. But, in the usual Adam Brown fashion, he didn't want to just be on a ship; he wanted to be a SEAL. With the determination he has shown his entire life, he persevered to achieve his goal. On March 17, 2010, with a highly decorated career, he gave the ultimate sacrifice while trying to protect his team.
While reading this book, I was struck by how much he and his team were like brothers. You always hear that it is that way, but if you were never in the military (and I wasn't), you just don't know the extent until you start reading a book like this. These guys went shoulder-to-shoulder into danger to protect our freedoms and you could just imagine the sense of brotherhood when these guys spoke of Adam with such respect, love and grief. Even though I knew how it was going to end, I still cried reading about the grief of his family and his friends, his brothers. Eric Blehm said it himself in the Afterword, "Even with the knowledge that Adam truly was ready-body and soul-to give up his life in the line of duty, the final chapters of this book were heartrending to write. I knew what was coming, but I hoped for a different outcome...somehow." I knew how it was going to end and I kept hoping he would pull through and go home to that beautiful family of his.
I would recommend this book to anyone, no matter how you feel about the War on Terror. There are so many other men and women who died serving our country whose stories we don't get to hear. They, and Adam Brown, deserve for us to take the time to read about the sacrifices they go through while we sit in our homes, playing with our children, griping about how we have to do this or that that, in the grand scheme of things, really aren't that bad. And, through it all, he never lost his faith in God.

Review 11 for Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team Six Operator Adam Brown
From May through July 2011, author Eric Blehm traveled around the U.S. interviewing the members of Navy Seal Team SIX, the ones who had just taken out bin Laden, and had lost one of their members, Chief Special Warfare Operator Adam Brown.
Adam and his twin, Manda, were born February 5, 1974. His dad was an electrician who moved the family frequently, whenever he could find a job. Adam, his brother Shawn, and his sister lived a nomadic life, often in a used 35 foot trailer, staying in campgrounds or trailer parks throughout Arkansas, Colorado, Montana, Louisiana, and Nevada. In one year alone, the kids went to 6 different schools.
Adam was small in stature, but tough as nails and known for being kind, honest and trustworthy. Somewhat of a surprise to his football coach, Adam always wanted to take on the largest players during drills. His parents would often find him leaping off the hood of the car, or a bridge or other crazy stunts. As daring as Adam was, he was doubly as kind. Blehm's writing makes you feel you're right there in the action. The stories of Adam sticking up for his sister and protecting a schoolmate who had Down Syndrome from bullies make you want to give this kid a hug.
In his senior year of high school, Adam saw an action-packed preview for the movie 'Navy SEALs,' in which Charlie Sheen played Lt. Dale Hawkins. From that time on, Adam's interest was piqued. Unfortunately, his college years were not easy. Adam struggled to find direction in his life and got involved with the 'wrong crowd.' He had trouble with drinking and drugs. His work ethic and his attitude suffered. Adam struggled to overcome his poor choices and addiction.
About halfway through the book Adam's journey to become a Navy SEAL unfolds. The physical and mental challenges were, to me, unimaginable and I couldn't put the book down. Adam reached the top tier of the Navy SEALS, SEAL Team Six, the 'best of the best.' True to his character, Adam was devoted to his teammates and others. He organized a church drive to send sneakers to the Afghan children, when he realized they only had sandals during the bitter cold winters.
Adam became a devoted husband and father, who gave the glory to God for the turnaround in his life. Adam's story is a reminder that it is possible to turn your life around and that God has the power to do what seems impossible.
Adam's story is truly inspirational, and I highly recommend this book.

Review 12 for Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team Six Operator Adam Brown
Adam Brown was a Hero, A True Hero. No he wasn’t a movie superhero, actor, a celebrity, a sports star or a music artist, but what he did is what a true hero is all about. Adam and all the men and women in the armed forces are who kids should grow up saying is my hero (before I get blasted I feel the same way about paramedics, firemen and women and police officers)
Fearless was a wonderful, heartwarming and heart string tugging book. I grew up in the military (my dad was in the Air Force) so I have deep admiration for all service men and women. One of the bases we were stationed at was only about 30 minutes from a Navy Seal Training base. I was about 22 at the time so yep I was defiantly draw to those edge of your bad boy navy seals. Most of those guys had a heart of gold and they were a tight crew.
Navy Seals do a job that not many in the military are cut out to do. I had a friend from high school that joined the military and after a while tried to get through the training to be a seal. Very few have the stamina and mental ability to do this edge of your seat, very risky job. Adam was one of the few and proud Navy Seals that did it out of love for our country and wanting to keep the United States safe. He was also a loving father, husband, son and friend. He touched many lives and continues to touch those that read his story. I remember hearing briefly about Adam and when his book became available I knew I had to read it. I was so touched and moved by his story. I hope that this book lives on and inspires many.

Review 13 for Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team Six Operator Adam Brown
Adam Brown had his own personal battles to fight before he ever became a Navy SEAL. Growing up, he was always looking out for his family and friends. You could tell even as he was growing up what a tough character he had and I mean that in a good way. He was strong and had a drive to see him through. After high school though, he seemed to wander and ended up becoming addicted to drugs. His parents and friends stood by him but had to make tough love decisions to get through to him. Even though all of this was going on, you could see how God was reaching out to him and his family. He met his wife Kelly during some of his worst times. She was a strong believer and knew that God was leading her to stand by Adam.
Adam came to realize that God was leading him to become a Navy SEAL and worked to overcome the things that stood in his way, namely his past of drug addiction and jail time. You will learn a lot more about what it takes to become a SEAL, their training and the bonds that are forged during training. For someone who is not familiar with the military process at all, it was very interesting and enlightening. The little that I did know had been taken from the papers and the news. The physical injuries alone that Adam suffered over the years of his training and service would have stopped the majority of people but he persevered through out up until the time that he was killed in action.
I don't believe that you will be disappointed if you pick this book to read. It is inspiring but heart breaking as well. I needed a box of tissues for the last 50 pages or so.
I will add that I had intended to place this book in our church library after I finished it but due to language that is contained in the book, will not be able to do so. I am not faulting the author for the use of it as it was contained in statements that were given in the interview process but wanted to make you aware in case it is a problem for you.

Review 14 for Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team Six Operator Adam Brown
We all need heroes in this world. We need people who we can look up to and emulate. We need people with integrity, honor, humility, strong faith and belief in the Living God, Jesus Christ. Someone who loves God, Country and Family more than they love themselves.
Adam Brown was just one of those heroes. He was a strong military team member of the SEAL Team Six. His life before becoming a SEAL wasn't perfect. He had many flaws. But the one thing he did have was an inner drive that wouldn't quit. He didn't believe in quitting.
I was so encouraged reading about Adam Brown and his life. So many times I was brought to tears over his struggles as he became one of the top SEAL Team members. I laughed over his various antics and crazy stunts he would pull. And my heart went out to and broke over the various lives he touched in such humble ways.
Eric Blehm's style of writing is alive and impacting. Reading Fearless, was almost like reading a novel, easy to read, smooth, and riveting. I couldn't stop reading it, even though I knew what would eventually happen to Adam. Blehm kept me glued to the book because he knew there was more to Adam's story than his bravery in the face of danger.
Fearless is the incredible story about an incredible man who would tell you, if he were here, that his wife and his brothers were the hereos, he was just doing what he believed he was suppose to do.

Review 15 for Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team Six Operator Adam Brown
FEARLESS is typically a book you would find men reading. For some reason, I am drawn to stories of men who have sacrificed their lives or given their service for our country through the military. This is Adam Brown’s life story, from Hot Springs, Arkansas, and it has touched my heart in a million different ways. He was proud to be from the state of Arkansas, which you will see as you read through the book.
As it states in the book, Adam was born three minutes after his twin sister, Manda, and it was the last time she beat him at anything. She came out crying; he came out quiet, looking around. From an early age, he pulled off dare-devil feats that would keep his mother on pins and needles. Pain was something that didn’t bother him. What mattered to him was helping others, doing the right thing, not letting pain hold him back, and standing up for the underdog, all with deep, heartfelt compassion.
Adam’s shenanigans throughout this high school years made you wonder if he’d live to graduate. But he did. When his three best buddies went off to college, Adam seemed to lose his sense of purpose. He got into the wrong crowd and did what he never thought he’d ever do–street drugs, which led to jail time. This went on for some years, until he met his sweetheart, Kelley, whom he married, had a son and eventually a daughter, and was guided into the service. How he got into the service is a story in itself!
Eric does a spectacular job of describing the man, Adam, with all his quirkiness, fun-loving personality, dedication, failures, achievements, faith, deep compassion, and his deep love for his wife and children, as well as his dedication to the men he served with and the country he served. Even through his extensive training as a Navy SEAL (and no, I do not remember all the titles), you will find him standing out partly due to his quirky behaviors, but also because of his overcoming achievements and bravery. Never have I ‘met’ a man with the caliber of commitment to his country, fellow servicemen and family.
Your emotions will ride high and low as Adam’s life takes on the highs and lows of achievement and disappointment. This is a book of reality, and there are some crushing moments. You will find yourself rooting for Adam, but also taking stock of the steadfastness of his wife. Military wives are one of a kind and are to be commended for their own bravery while their husbands are gone on duty and encouraging them throughout. What would bring Adam and Kelley through all the struggles and deployments was their deep faith in the Lord. God worked many wonders through their lives.
The combat missions are told in such a fashion that you are going through the elements and conditions along with the men. Their tenacity and endurance make me proud to know we have men who are willing to fight for our safety at the cost of their lives if necessary. The select mission at the end will bring it full circle, though the missions have not ended. Though the book revolves around Adam, he knew that working with the SEALS was a team effort. He took no glory for himself.
The other major thing you will find in this book is what these Navy SEALS did for the women and children in the countries they were serving in that the American media did not show us on TV. That truth alone stands out to show us that Americans were not evil-doers out to just conquer another nation as we were led to believe back home.
This book will inspire young boys and men to be proud to serve in our military, holding up a standard for them to work toward. Special thanks go to Eric Blehm for writing this gutsy, true story about Naval Special Warfare Operator (SEAL) Adam Brown, who overcame tremendous odds in his rise to the top tier of the U.S. military: SEAL Team SIX. The tender warrior. This story was told to Eric by Adam’s family, friends, teachers, coaches, the military, his SEAL team members, and letters and journals he wrote.

Review 16 for Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team Six Operator Adam Brown
As a patriotic, pro-military American and a soon-to-be military sister, I had high hopes for this book, but was somewhat worried that I would be disappointed. I wasn't. Everything this book promises, it delivers... and then some.
Fearless is the story of larger-than-life Adam Brown, a down-to-earth Arkansas boy whose surrender to Jesus - pointed out in the book as the only time in his life he ever surrendered - pulled him out of a vicious tailspin through drug addictions and everything that went with it. His remarkable character and personality, dominated by his compassion, protectiveness, and as the title implies, fearlessness, shine from every page. His journey was dark and frustrating at times, even for me as a reader. Honestly, there were times when I genuinely wished I could deck the guy for some of the things he did and the mistakes he made.
But the power of Christ was unmistakeably evident in this man's life. From the county jail he made his way step after dogged step into the ranks of SEAL team SIX - one of America's most elite fighting forces. His testimony as a Christian, his example as a husband, father, and compassionate human being, and his amazing commitment as a soldier are incredibly inspiring. I was literally in tears for the last 50 pages of the book.
I cannot recommend this book strongly enough. In addition to Adam Brown's incredible life story, Fearless is filled with amazing insight into the war efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan, unflinching looks into the true nature of radical Islamic terrorism, eye-opening descriptions of the training and screening our soldiers go through, and inspiring accounts of the families who stand behind those soldiers. Every American adult should read this book. Period.
I received this book free of charge in exchange for my review, but a favorable review was not required.

Review 17 for Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team Six Operator Adam Brown
I have heard about the book Fearless for a few months now, and even posted earlier that I had read the first chapter of the book, so I was very excited to find that WaterBrook Press was offering the book for review. I read this book in two sittings, which really would have been one sitting if I didn't plan to get ready for a family reunion at my home over the weekend. This book is just so good that it was very hard to put it down. And like really great books, I did go through a few tissues, especially at the end. I spent about twenty minutes during a drive with my teenagers yesterday excitedly re-telling stories from the book (with them listening wide-eyed).
Fearless, written by Eric Blehm, tells the life story of Adam Brown, a man who should go down in history as one of our American heroes. The book tells the good, the bad and the ugly in Adam's life, including a stint with drugs and a stay in prison. It tells the incredible story of how Adam overcame physical wounds that would have sidelined any other man (including Navy Seals) to advance to the top level, DEVGRU (Naval Special Warfare Development Group), upon which time all records are labeled "Top Secret".
Even though I knew the end of the story, it was still very hard to accept the fact that Adam gave his life for his country. I wanted him to live on forever. But as author Eric Blehm points out Adam was a Christian, a man who professed Christ as his Savior, and his life and his witness did not end with his death.
Adam's witness at home and in the field affected many people, from the Afghan children he took shoes to during the cold months (over 500 pairs were distributed by Adam, collected from his family, fellow Seals and churches), to the way he engaged in battle. He helped his wife teach Sunday school. He brought fellow Seals to church with him. One Seal struggled with the concept of Christianity, but accepted Christ shortly before he was killed on a mission. Many lives were changed because of Adam's faith and example.
The author makes a statement in his Afterword that speaks volumes to the character of Adam Brown: And though I hadn't opened a Bible in more than twenty-five years, his (Adam Brown's) faith encouraged me to question my own questioning about religion.
This is a book you might want to reserve for older, mature teenagers and adults. Those who can handle the graphic nature of the book, as well as a few choice words sprinkled in, mainly in the beginning of the book. Overall, this is a book that I will be sharing with my sons, a couple of my nephews and other family members. I believe it is important that we choose heroes who actually do what is right, those who serve our country and try to make our lives better, and not those who are portrayed as "heroes" today on television shows.

Review 18 for Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team Six Operator Adam Brown
Fearless was provided to me free of charge by Waterbrook Multnomah for review purposes. I must admit, when the book arrived, it sat for a few days as I decided whether or not I had the stomach to read it. Knowing from the dust jacket that the strong, young Navy SEAL on the cover had lost his life in battle made for the difficult choice. Did I really want to get to know this man, his family, his friends, his struggles and triumphs of life, knowing the outcome before I even began? Then, if I did read it, would I be able to write an unbiased review, or would I feel like I had to write "nice things" so as not to offend the family left behind? Flipping a coin seemed like a cop-out, so I did the next best thing. I decided that I would read the first chapter, see how I fared, and then make my choice.
Chapter one quickly turned into two, then three, then a night of unending reading as I did find myself pulled into the story of Adam Brown's life. The author did a beautiful job of introducing the reader to Adam and his family. It wasn't always easy to experience the joys and triumphs of his life, remembering the loss that lay at the end of the book. The good news is that there is much to learn between the pages about persevering in all situations. Some of Adam's trials were so great that they seemed they could not possibly be overcome, but God is faithful. Through the many phases of Adam's life, you can see God's hand in everything that happened. It's a rare look at life from the other end.
I greatly appreciated the chance to get to know Adam Brown through the eyes of his family and friends. I found it to be a fitting tribute to an American hero, as well as a reminder to all of us that life is brief. How do you want to remembered when someone writes your story? And when they read it, will they see God in the pages?

Review 19 for Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team Six Operator Adam Brown
Fearless is a true adventure of an American Hero! This is a remarkable story of one man, his story, his struggles, his humility, his family, his addictions and his service as a member of the “Green Team” on SEAL team six.
Adam Brown, officially known as a Chief Special Warfare Operator (SEAL), one of the most respected Special Operations warriors in the US Navy. He worked for the Naval Special Warfare Development Group (NSWDG), aka DEVGRU. Before May 2011, details about Adam's unit - more popularly called SEAL Team SIX - were neither confirmed nor commented on by the Pentagon and the White House. One night changed everything; the wave of publicity following Osama bin Laden's death thrust the little-known unit into the spot light.
You will experience a full range of emotions in this detailed, captivating, and heart breaking story. A story that is more about being fearless and compassionate on operations as they protect their brothers, their troop, and they protect each other, as well as helping to carry the Afghan's load; and to sit down and try to calm women and children after a raid.
Adam is a legend among SEAL's.
Quotes about Adam:
"He did things a Navy SEAL would do long before he was a SEAL." Coach Steve Anderson
"He didn't have a 'fear bone' in his body." "Tough as nails." "He was a machine, wide open in everything he did-full throttle."
"He could endure pain better than anybody I've ever known. . .if he felt it at all." Adam's reputation among his SEAL buddies

Review 20 for Fearless: The Undaunted Courage and Ultimate Sacrifice of Navy SEAL Team Six Operator Adam Brown
We don’t usually think that a drug addicted thief has any potential to become an American hero. But isn’t it amazing what God can do? The story of Adam Brown is a startling example of the miracle of God’s grace. Where once stood a filthy, miserable, drug addled boy, now a man of courage and strength and honor and humility occupies the annals of American lore, one who desires nothing but God’s glory. Adam Brown’s life became the picture of redemption and Christ’s power.
The amazing thing about Adam’s transformation is that Christ used him as he was created – the fearlessness that characterized his childhood did not diminish as he became a warrior for Christ, it just became useful. That is the wonder of salvation! Where before our brokenness made our personality traits tragic, Christ’s healing remakes us so that we can build the kingdom in His name!
This is a great book for anyone who has a military background, is a dad, or has a desire to be used of the kingdom. In other words, if you want to see what the transforming power of Christ can do – this book is a treasure of exactly that. God works through broken people, because that’s what all of us are. That His glory shines brighter through the transformation of some whose brokenness is exceptional is evidenced by the way he has used Christians from the apostle Paul forward. Christ transforms people. Adam Brown is yet another example of the power of that testimony.
