I purchased this devotional to give to members in a small Bible Study Group. We have each enjoyed using it but it is a little difficult to use as a weekly study. However, it is not advertised as such so we are using it as a starting point of discussion.

At our church, the pastor usually creates a calendar and chooses 40 days worth of scriptures to read during lent. The Lent 2012 booklet, not only provided daily reading, but a devotion as well. It's truly a good tool and we will definitely consider using the product each year in the future.

After awhile encouraging church members to write their thoughts about faith and contributing too much of my own thought to a Lenten devotion booklet gets tedious. Too bad. "The Sanctuary" does what we've been doing for years: taking a look at scripture and sharing personal experiences that show what meaning the passage has for the writer. This year it will give us a break from the hassle of doing it ourselves.
