Having clear boundaries is essential to a healthy, balanced lifestyle. A boundary is a personal property line that marks those things for which we are responsible. In other words, boundaries define who we are and who we are not. Boundaries impact all areas of our lives: Physical boundaries help us determine who may touch us, mental boundaries give us the freedom to have our own thoughts, emotional boundaries help us to deal with our own emotions and spiritual boundaries help us to distinguish God's will from our own.

I don't know a soul that doesn't have at least one boundary issue. With the knowledge contained in this book, I think anyone can confront and deal with their boundary issues and change their life for the better.

Have been teaching the DVD small group version, and several group members wanted a print copy of the book-some for themselves, some as gifts for others. It is a powerful tool for empowering people to own their lives and hold themselves and others accountable for actions. I highly recommend everyone read this; while much of it may not directly apply to you, it will give you the understanding of others in your life.

Demands seek to invade our lives every day. They come from friends, family and even ourselves, and they seek to consume our time, talent and treasure. A healthy, God-centered life requires us to filter through these demands and determine which to take on and which to pass up; the goal is to always embrace the tasks we should, while never undertaking the ones we should avoid, even though they seem to be valid needs. Boundaries is a thorough review of the why, when and how of setting limits properly and gives examples of the consequences of not doing so. By learning these concepts our lives can be more honoring to God and a benefit to ourselves and those around us.

It took me awhile to get through the whole book because it was so full of information that I wanted to absorb, but it has taught me a whole new way of looking at the importance of boundaries & carrying them out. As a person with fuzzy boundaries, it opened my eyes in many ways. I was afraid to carry thru so many times...but this book has taught me how God looks at boundaries and the importanc of carrying them out. I felt like this book could have been written directly to me. I would recommend it very highly.
