Jesus commanded us to "take up your cross and follow me." But what does it mean to "take up the cross?" Providing a fresh perspective on Jesus' sacrifice, Blackaby calls us to experience the deeper dimensions of Christ's death by radically dealing with sin-and by welcoming God's presence into our lives.

Customer Reviews for Experiencing the Cross
Review 1 for Experiencing the Cross
well presented subject

I was looking for a good book for our graduating students. As the cross of Christ is central to the Christian message I chose this book. It was an excellent read, good theology and in the hardback well presented.

Blackaby in explaining the cross made me take another look at the sin in my life. God takes all sin seriously. It really helped me see sins as God sees it.

Review 3 for Experiencing the Cross

Of the many Christian books I've read over the past several years, I consider this one from Dr. Blackaby "the" absolute best. "Experiencing the Cross" is packed full of scripture to support everything Dr. Blackaby says about taking up our cross daily and following our Savior. I especially appreciate the candid way Dr. Blackaby unashamedly points out our need to recognize and forsake ALL sin in our lives in order to be true desciples of our Lord. This book has made me realize just how far we who call ourselves "Christians" have come from being what God desires AND EXPECTS His people to be. God bless you, Dr. Blackaby, for writing such a desperately needed book in our day, and for being so open and honest about the relation of our sin to the cross of Christ. If you are hungry for a deeper and more genuine relationship with Jesus Christ, if you are truly thirsty to walk with God, and if you're tired of how many of us candy-coat our sin, then this book is a must read! Prayerfully, you (like me) will never be the same!
