Bethany House Same Sex Controversy

In the guise of tolerance, Hollywood and modern culture have granted "alternative lifestyles" status to a behavior condemned by Scripture. In this book, the authors clarify and define the Bible's stand on homosexuality as they expand on key passages. Subjects include the basis of biblical morality, biblical teaching on marriage and sexuality, the new "homosexual apologist," and both Old and New Testament witnesses against homosexuality. They also provide information on how to lovingly and biblically reach out to those caught up in its grip. Contents: The Unthinkable Has Become Thinkable; Revisiting Sodom: The Lesson of Sodom and Gomorrah; Recycling the Older Testament: Introducing the Leviticus Passage Part One and Two; Unnatural Affections, Unnatural Interpretation Romans 1; Desperately Defining Terms 1 Corinthians and 1 Timothy; All You Need Is Love and Other Justifications; Conclusion: A Pastoral Appeal; The Relationship of Law and Grace in Romans 6:14; John Chrysostom (347-407) on Romans 1; Homosexuality as an Abomination: Moral or Ceremonial Uncleanness?; Augustine 354-430 on Romans 1 - Sin and the Penalty of Sin the Same - Bibliography; Recommended Reading

White here provides a very good response to the doctrine that claims a homosexual lifestyle and a Christian lifestyle are compatible. An increasing number of people today have succumbed to the line of thinking that there is some degree of homosexual activity that is acceptable to God. White calmly sets the record straight, misinterpreted God's stance on same-sex activity, partnerships, and even marriage. This book would have received five stars, but was only given four because of the author's wordiness. The points he makes here could have been made in far fewer pages. He also neglects the bigger picture behind the error of the homosexual camp, failing to mention their replacement of God's propositional truth in the Bible with man's experiential truth based on his own experience.Still, this book is the best treatment I have read on this increasingly prevalent problem in today's society.

Dr. White gives us a book that deals with the sin of homosexuality from God's Word. He doesn't give in to the cultural views or the changing morals of society but he stays true to the Scriptures. Dr. White opens every passage of Scripture on homosexuality and gives a biblical defense against this sin.

I just finished reading the book and have found it very helpful in giving me an understanding of both the revisionist's perspectives on the practice of homosexuality as well as the proper Biblical response to those who would claim that a same sex lifestyle is condoned by God. Thanks, James White, for once again enlightening the truth of God's Word!

For some time authentic Christians have needed a sound, thorough, BIBLICAL reply to the growing trend of accepting the homosexual lifestyle within Christian fellowships. It has been worth the wait. These gifted authors provide a clear defense of the Bibles overwhelming message that both the orientation toward homosexuality and its behavior are immoral in Gods sight. The authors provide a thorough exegesis of all the relevant passages -- with great care and accuracy. They conclude with a powerful appeal to practicing homosexuals to turn from this practice in repentance and faith. One of the most important books we have seen come along in some time...and one we pray will be widely circulated.
