Wordsworth Editions Ltd Wordsworth Classics: Pride and Prejudice

Pride and Prejudice is an ironic novel of manners. In it, the garrulous and empty-headed Mrs. Bennet has only one aim--that of finding a good match for each of her five daughters. In this she is mocked by her cynical and indolent husband. With its wit, its social precision and, above all, its irresistible heroine, Pride and Prejudice has proved one of the most enduringly popular novels in the English language.

This version includes the entire text of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, as well as footnotes describing some expressions or allusions which may be lost on some due to the dated cultural context. I bought this version principally for the footnotes and had hoped that there would be more - there being only a page and a half of explanations in the back. However, what does get explained is interesting to know and does help to fill out the story a bit more. If all you're interested in is reading the novel, this is a great version with a great price.
