Barbour Publishing Maggie and the Maverick

No one suspects the diminutive seller of feminine fripperies to be a U.S. Marshal in disguise. But that's what Maggie Davis is. So when the intriguingly handsome stage driver turns out to be her number one suspect, she's surprised at the turmoil she feels. Can the sweet, caring man she's come to know be the same scoundrel the sheriff and other townspeople so viciously malign? If the perpetrator truly is Cal McConnell, then justice will be served. Even if it breaks Maggie's heart.

This short story western is set in Idaho Territory in 1884. It has all the suspense, intrigue and romance that any novel could ask for. When I read it I couldn’t put it down.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was captivated right from the start. It was a nice unique twist to have an undercover US Marshal Deputy as a woman! This was the first I had heard of in the old west. For those who adore reading historic Christian westerns, like I, I highly recommend this book . . . and a couple of quiet hours, as once you start reading you won't be able to put it down!!
