I love this Bible for my personal devotional use and have purchased several copies of it for friends. The classical prayers and collection of ideas for experiencing prayer in multiple ways has been a benefit to me and others. The written prayers offer a place to start conversations with God. The sections highlighting the Psalms and the prayer habits and prayers of Jesus will also be a help to those studying the discipline of prayer. It even includes a 52 week journal to record your thoughts about the daily scripture readings. The CEV is extremely easy to read for beginners to Bible study even though some advanced readers might find it a little 'light"." Still, the language is direct and simple and I have found it a good resource for comparison with more familiar versions I prefer. I highly recommend this book for those who want to experience a more full and creative prayer life.
