I bought this as a gift and heard great things from this person after reading this book. She said she laughed and she cried but was reminded to find her hope in Jesus. I would definitely recommend this book!

Review 3 for Grace: More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine - eBook
We are using it in our Life Group and are in awe of how frequently a similar message is preached on Sunday. God is always faithful to confirm what He wants us to remember. Max Lucado writes the truth in ways we can test and be sure. The Scriptures in the back match up perfectly. Some of the challenge questions require getting deeper and really make us think!

Review 4 for Grace: More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine - eBook
Grace by Max Lucado is not written as a theology book. It is written as a book that should/could/would help a christian walk through their christian life. He strives to make the point of just how big God's grace really is and that grace can be unique to each individual believer because each of us is unique as is our walk with God. The author uses a lot of story telling which I think makes his books so popular because people can relate. They can remember stories. I happen to like books like this where I can learn or re-learn things without the use of 2 dictionaries and a thesaurus. Whether you have been walking with God for 9 minutes or 90 years, there is always something to learn about the Grace of God. And as with all his other books, there is a built in study guide. I would not hesitate to loan this book out to people.

Review 6 for Grace: More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine - eBook
This is the Patriarch of the Grace family. Subtitled "More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine," Lucado launches into his discussion of grace with both feet, using this book as the cornerstone for other endeavors. At almost 250 pages, the book defines terms and lays the groundwork for a deeper understanding of the grace of God and how it impacts our lives. And, for the sake of applicability, there's a study guide and discussion questions built (or published) right in to the book.
Using touching illustrations that draw upon the heart strings like a good Hallmark movie based on a Chicken Soup for the Soul entry, Lucado describes God's grace to the reader as a limitless, boundless pursuer of the prodigals, a designation we all share. Grace meets us where we are, sees us for what we can be, washes us clean (even our stinky feet), inspires genuine transformation within us, and ultimately secures our place in Heaven (should we choose to accept it). Grace (the book) is everything you expect of a Max Lucado book and will surely please fans of his previous works.

Review 7 for Grace: More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine - eBook
WOW......IT HAS BEEN SO LONG SINCE I POSTED....and/or read or reviewed anything. I am so sorry...there is so much going on in my life right but that is another post for a later time...and I will be sure to post so that I can update everyone on the new stuff going on. More than that, this post is to tell you about yet another absolutely awesome Max Lucado book. Max Lucado has quickly become one of my favorite authors (thanks to my spiritual parents for sharing with me) and he has done it yet again. He has taken a concept that is HIGHLY misunderstood, debated, and ESSENTIAL and found a new way to explain it.
I have to say that sometimes I drastically underestimate God’s grace. I tend to imagine it as this flowery, soft feeling… to be graceful, to show grace… but it is also so much more than that, it is dogged and abounding. When I think I’ve gone too far, messed up too much, or done the unforgiveable, I am reminded of how utterly relentless HIs grace is. God gives us the kind of grace we need when we need it and usually without us knowing we need it.
This book focuses on our understanding of God’s grace and its presence everywhere. As usual, Max has used plenty of stories and examples that offer hope and encouragement and uplift the reader. Some are achingly sad and others are joyous, but there’s grace in all of them. I am the type of person that needs to be able to get lost in what I'm reading and Lucado was able to use these stories to do just that. I was moved by many of them and it was easy to then see the grace that was shown. One thing that really hit home with me was on page 98 “’Take it away,’ you’ve pleaded…You’ve out prayed Paul…You’re about to hit the wall…what you hear is this: ‘My grace is sufficient for you.’” Sometimes it feels overwhelming. Sometimes you feel like just giving up. Max helps you understand that God’s grace is constant and it always meets us when/where we need it to. His grace gives us what we need to make it through the current trial and the next one. We also can never receive too much...Just don’t give up.
While the first half of the book is Max explaining, more importantly showing us where to find, Grace in the Bible; the latter half is more of a study guide to teach how to make grace a practical part of your life. “Grace is the voice that calls us to change and then gives us the power to pull it off.” That’s not an easy concept to believe. Unfortunately our society focuses on what an individual can or cannot do. We focus more on the failings of people and do what we can to point out their screw-ups, rather than look for the triumphs. God does the exact opposite...God says let Me use your shortcomings for My glory. I have to say that I think everyone should read this book!!!! :)

Review 10 for Grace: More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine - eBook
Grace, by Max Lucado. Grace isn't something that is easily grasped by believers. It's a concept that is hard to believe or accept! Why would God offer it to us so freely? Can we ever really comprehend it and what is expected of us in showing grace to others? Max takes us through the stories of Jesus and how showed grace to "sinners", such as the woman caught in adultery. As well as the scriptures to give us a full understanding of what it means and how much it cost!
Max Lucado tackles the subject of grace in this book and my goodness does he ever do an amazing job! I am not a cryer, but I spent the majority of time reading this book in tears! It is so wonderful! If you've ever wondered what God thinks of you, Max Lucado does an amazing job showing you! If I could afford to buy 100 copies of this book just to hand out I would! It is an amazing book that is necessary for all of us to discover! This belongs in the hands of every believer! What an amazingly talented man! God has given him the gift of being able to convey his truths with much impact! I really can't say enough about this book, it is a must have!

Review 11 for Grace: More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine - eBook
This is a book for anyone who desires to not only know, but practice grace. Max wonderfully explains and illustrates, through word pictures, how the Bible explains grace. The book helps one understand and practice grace. The latter half of the book is a study guide to help one make grace real from the reader to others. It is appropriate for adults who desire not only to know more about Jesus, but also to follow Him . I enjoyed this book. The chapters were rooted in Scripture and helpful in understanding and engaging in grace. Max clearly loves Jesus and begins to plumb the depth of Jesus’ grace to us. Like other of Max’s books, this one certainly is understandable and practical. I recommend this book!

I’ve read my share of Lucado’s books throughout the years and this is a nice addition to them. This book focuses on our understanding God’s grace and its presence everywhere. As usual with the author’s books, there are plenty of stories and examples that offer hope to encourage and uplift the reader. Some are achingly sad and others are joyous, but there’s grace in all of them. I am not, in general, a crier but I read this around Christmas time and so many of the stories just got to me.
One of my favorite quotes used in the book sums up my experience with God’s grace: Lord, I crawled across the barrenness to you with my empty cup… if only I had known you better, I’d have come running with a bucket. –Nancy Spiegelberg
I’ll be passing this book on to my friends. It was a grace to read it and it’ll be a grace to pass it on.

Grace: More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine - By: Max Lucado
Max Lucado is a husband, father, pastor and he is a story teller. All of these things are very clear when you read any of his books and the combination of these four things, in my opinion, is why his books are definite "must reads" whether you are talking bout a book he wrote on the Bible of one of his many wonderful books for children. He knows how to write words in a way which captures our attention and in a way which helps us understand Who God is and the truth of how much He loves us!
Max's newest book is called Grace - a word which on it's own causes our hearts to have hope! Grace is something we all need and thankfully is something God so richly lavishes on us! As Max says in this book, Grace is, "~ More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine ~" Just reading this was enough to make me want to read the book!
As I read Grace, the following things really stood out for me . . .
•"Grace is God's best idea!" - of all the possible responses to the disobedience - the sin of people - God chose to give us grace! How amazing is that?!!! Grace is real love in action. •"God's Grace has a drenching about it. A wildness about it. A white-water, riptide, turn-you-upside-downess about it. Grace comes after you." - I had never thought about grace like this before. I grew up with songs like, Amazing Grace, which while it is a wonderful, amazing song, it leaves me with the feeling of "tameness" and "quietness". But, God's grace is wild and full of life! It does turn us upside-down and it does completely change our lives! •"When God hears your heart He hears the still-beating heart of His Son!" - Jesus is the ultimate organ donator - He gave His heart; His life so we can live! •"Do we clean up so God can accept us? no, He accepts us and begins cleaning us up! Grace lives because Jesus does, works because He works and matters because He matters!" - I'm so glad I can know, "Grace lives because Jesus does"! I'm so thankful I do not have to "clean up" before God can accept me because I can never make myself clean enough for God to accept me. •"Jesus stooped. Low enough to sleep in a manger, work in a carpentry shop, sleep in a fishing boat. Low enough to rub shoulders with crooks and lepers. Low enough to be spat upon, slapped, nailed and speared. Low. Low enough to be buried. And then He stood. Up from the slab of death. Tall. High. He stood up for the woman and silenced her accusers and He does the same for you." - yes, Jesus stooped low. But then He stood up! He rose from the dead and He stands up for me as He silences Satan and declares me forgiven; the recipient of God's Grace!
Grace is a must-read book! It will give you a new view of grace and a new view of God! One of the most important, most powerful things we can do as grandmas for our grandchildren is to help them understand the gift of Grace God has for them. Read this book and share what you learn with your grandchildren by accepting this grace from God and then living a life which is not only touched by grace, but is completely turned upside-down by it! Be a grandma who not only has received grace, but who freely gives it to those around you!

Review 15 for Grace: More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine - eBook
I decided to read Grace the book by Max Lucado because it was all over Twitter and the quotes being posted were outstanding. I have never read a lot of Lucado's work - but I think he has gained another follower and fan of his writing. This book seems to answer a lot of questions unbelievers and Christians would ask about Grace. Lucado breaks down this intangible action of love called grace in terms that make sense and are applicable to our lives, moments of success, and moments of weakness. Lucado's simple matter-of-fact writing brings you face to face with plain people of the Bible and of today's world and allows us to experience their moments of grace with them. I would highly recommend this book to others - people who are fresh in their relationship with Jesus, those that have been Christians for years, and those who are just curious! I found this book to be down to earth, easy to read, and enchanting all at the same time. It has revealed somethings to me and reminded me of many more. I feel challenged daily to accept that I am accepted and chosen. I never wanted to put this book down and when I did put it down the words and ideas o the book resonated with me. I think Max Lucado did an excellent job spreading the truth about the grace that our heavenly Father gives us. If you are searching for a book to read, this one could be it!

Review 17 for Grace: More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine - eBook
Max Lucado is a very well known author, but one whose books I haven't really read. As I was driving one day I heard an interview with him on Family Life Today and was intrigued to read his latest book, Grace; More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine.
Grace is one of those words that we never get to the bottom of and yet, can be thrown around in our communication and life as "cheap". As we contemplate the birth of Christ today and tomorrow, I am astounded at this grace that Christ has offered. Mr. Lucado does a great job of reminding us why we need this grace. For if we do not know the depths of our state of affairs, we will NEVER see the reason for embracing this grace. And this grace is offered in great abundance. For we need much of it. Daily.
Too often we think so highly of ourselves, more highly than we ought. Max Lucado reminds us that this free gift is part of the cure for our sin and selfishness. He is a magnificent story teller who shares his thoughts in a way that pierces your thoughts and really helps you to see the depth of his reason for writing this book. Wherever you find yourself in life, you always need grace. And this grace did not come from a cheap investment. This grace came from a sacrificial redemption plan. The plan that my Savior opened his arms to. The plan that He chose to give His life in obedience to His Father.
I am so thankful for this grace. This grace that is anything, but cheap. This grace that opens my eyes up to how much I have been given and how much I need to extend to others.

Review 18 for Grace: More Than We Deserve, Greater Than We Imagine - eBook
Grace by Max Lucado is his latest book and it is another winner. There are many books on this subject, but Max makes this topic so much more understandable with his unique writing style. I am a huge Max fan and this book was "over the top" good. He has enough grace to pardon every sin, solve every dilemma, wipe every tear, and answer every question. It's more than we deserve and greater than we imagine. If those sentences don't make you interested in reading this book, something is wrong. I have highlighted most of this book since there are so many nuggets in these pages:
The meaning of life. The wasted years of life. The poor choices of life. God answers the mess of life with one word: grace. Grace comes after you. It rewires you. From insecure to God secure. From regret-riddled to better-because-of-it. From afraid-to-die to ready-to-fly. Grace is the voice that calls us to change and then gives us the power to pull it off. To accept grace is to accept the vow to give it.
These are just a few of my favorite lines in this book, many, many more great stories also. There is a great readers guide in the back of the book that I really enjoyed also. So, get your highlighter out, a hot drink and be prepared to see grace in a new and wonderful light as your read this book Thanks to Thomas Nelson for this free book just for my honest opinion.

Once again Max Lucado has written an excellent book. I marvel at God's grace and this book introduced new thoughts and new appreciation for the grace afforded us as Christians. I would highly recommend this book along with other books that Max Lucado has authored.
