Wow! Great book by Colleen Coble. Looking forward to the next book in the series. I liked she brought in Bree and Samson into the story. It was perfect for the story line. I worked crime scenes and this story had me guessing. Well done and hard to put down especially after Nicole was kidnapped. You read this and can smell the sea and feel the breeze.

Colleen Coble has done it again with another series similar to her Rock Harbor series. Once I started reading Tidewater Inn, I hated to put it down. Just enough intrigue and romance. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

Review: I loved the characters in this book. Libby was great a person who had a mysterious past that even she did not know of. The love and kindness she showed her siblings even though they tried and tested her all the way was a great show of Christ's love without being preachy. I found the mystery of Nicole's kidnapping and the murder attempt on Libby to be just enough of a who done it to compliment the learning about this parent she never know and how all these things came to be. The shady land developer and his front man, new found siblings that hated her and all the people in the town were well placed to the point that I never was able to guess who was behind everything. That was the very best part I never figured out who was behind it. I had ideas and suspicions and yet they were wrong. Well played Ms. Coble. Thanks for this fantastic read. I love tales of finding out that the life you thought you knew was not quite accurate it makes for a great what if.
I would like to thank Net Galley and Thomas Nelson for allowing me to read and review this book in return for a free copy and I was never asked to write a favorable review by anyone.

Without sustaining evidence, Libby is a prime suspect in the disappearance of her friend and business partner, Nicole. They restore old historic homes and have come to the Outer Banks for a project when Nicole is snatched away. Libby also learns, to her amazement that her father, whom she had thought dead, just passed away recently, leaving her a beautiful old hotel. There is much under the surface and the path of discovery leads Libby down a dangerous but informative path.
Wonderful characters, vivid and enchanting story telling will keep the pages turning.

I recently read Tidewater Inn by Colleen Coble. I've been wanting to read one of Coble's books for a long time, so when I logged onto Booksneeze and saw that Tidewater Inn was one of my review options, I jumped on it.
This book is about Libby who finds out that her father, who she thought was dead for years, has just died and left her a historic inn in Hope Beach, a small town on the outer banks. On top of trying to connect with a family she never knew she had, Libby must also search for her business partner who has been kidnapped in the area.
I thought this book was enjoyable. The characters were likable, and even though it seemed to start out slow, the mystery aspect that became apparent in the second half of the book kept me reading to the end.
There was a nice little romance thrown in, and Libby struggles throughout the book with how to treat her new siblings, who are acting hostile toward her, in a Christ-like manner.
This was a suspense/mystery book that included lessons to be learned, without being too heavy or serious. I think it would be a great vacation/beach read, and I'm definitely going to check out some of Coble's other books!
Note: I was given this book for free by Booksneeze in exchange for this review. This is my honest opinion of the book.

Libby fell in love with Tidewater Inn the moment she saw it. She dreamed of restoring the run-down inn, her inheritance, to its former beauty, if she only had the funding. So she decides to sell. But until that happens, Libby finds she has a lot to learn about the father she never knew, the siblings she just met, and the island they call home.
As Libby investigate the house that her father left her in his will, she learns more about him than her mother ever told her growing up. Raised to believe that her father died when she was five, Libby is in shock when she hears that he not only died much later in life, but that he never forgot her and talked about her frequently.
This book holds more than your typical family reunion. Mystery, suspense, romance and a long lost legend grab your attention and hold you captive with each turn of the page.
I give this book 5 stars; another great novel by Colleen Coble. I would recommend this book to just about anyone, but especially those who love a gripping story that teaches a lesson in trust and love.

Trouble can be found in the most beautiful places.
When Libby find that she has inherited the pictureque Tidewater Inn from the deceased father she never knew, she is shocked to find that his death is recent. Rather than him having died when she was five like her mother had told her. On Hope Beach Libby meets a whole other part of her family that she never knew existed. But trouble comes bursting forth like a hurricane, will Libby be able to convince those around that she isn't the source?
Another great book from Colleen Coble! I loved how I could read this book quickly, at a fast pace. There was alot going on and definitely some suspense that made me turn the pages even faster!
I liked how the characters interacted with each other, very believably. Though there were times when I was like, "Why isn't he doing something by now!"
The characters were well rounded, and I liked how there wasn't only action and suspense, but there was also an emotional side to the drama. Oh, and don't let me forget that there was also a romanic air to the wind :)
Overall, this was another wonderful read from Colleen Coble, so if you have read her books before or you haven't, Tidewater Inn is a satisfying journey that have you turning the pages rapidly!

5 Stars *****
In this book one of The Hope Beach Series, Colleen Coble once again has created a book that grabs you from the very beginning with excitement and a list of characters that you will love, with a setting you can only dream about.
Libby Holladay, a restorer of historical houses, is in business with her friend, Nicole Ingram. Nicole goes to look at some property on Hope Island they have been hired to restore. While there she accidentally finds out that Libby’s father Ray Holladay has recently died, and left Libby the beautiful Tidewater Inn.
When Nicole tells Libby what’s she’s discovered about Libby’s father, Libby is shocked! Her father died when she was five years old, or at least that’s what her mom told her all of her life. Could her mom have lied to her, yes; she was irresponsible and most of Libby’s life she had to take care of her mom but was she also a liar? While talking to Libby, Nicole is standing in front of a web-cam on Hope Beach, and is kidnapped right in front of Libby’s eyes. Doing the only thing she can she calls 9-11 and tells them what has happened.
When Libby arrives at Hope Beach the next day she goes to the police to see if they have found Nicole, and instead of looking for the men Libby tells them she saw, they accuse her of killing Nicole and dumping her body in the ocean. What is going on? Why would anyone want to kidnap Nicole and why would the police think Libby is guilty?
While Libby is investigating Nicole’s kidnapping she runs into Alec Bourne that is a Captain in the Coast Guard. Alec seems too good to be true especially when he tells Libby he will take some time off from his job to help her search for Nicole. He fails to tell her his cousin the sheriff, asks him to keep an eye on Libby, hoping she will mess up and tell them why she killed Nicole. While spending time with Alec Libby feels her heart opening up to him, but what will happen when she finds out what the Sheriff has asked Alec to do? Will it destroy her faith in him?
The more Libby is on the island, the more she learns about her father, she gets to met family she didn’t know about. She has a sweet aunt that seems to welcome her but when she meets her half-sister and brother they are not happy in the least. Has her Father set her up for a fall by leaving her the Inn? Will she be able to establish a relationship with her brother and sister or are they the ones that are trying to scare her off or even try to kill her?
Colleen surely has written a gripping novel, I was drawn in from the first page when Nicole is kidnapped in front of Libby’s eyes. There are a lot of twists and turns and you will be guessing up until the end who is behind all the mystery and drama. Thank you Colleen, I truly enjoyed it!
I was given an arc by the publisher and NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

Colleen Coble in her new book “Tidewater Inn” Book One in the Hope Beach series published by Thomas Nelson takes us into the life of Libby Holladay.
From the back cover: Welcome to Hope Beach. A place of intoxicating beauty . . . where trouble hits with the force of a hurricane.
Inheriting a beautiful old hotel on the Outer Banks could be a dream come true for Libby. The inn cries out for her restorer’s talent and love of history. She’s delighted to learn of the family she never knew she had. And the handsome Coast Guard lieutenant she’s met there on the island could definitely be the man of her dreams.
But Libby soon realizes that the only way she can afford the upkeep on the inn is to sell it to developers who are stalking the island. The father who willed her the inn has died before she could meet him, and her newfound brother and sister are convinced she’s there to steal their birthright. Worst of all, her best friend and business partner has been kidnapped before her eyes, and Libby’s under suspicion for the crime.
Libby’s dream come true is becoming a nightmare. Her only option is to find her friend and prove her innocence, or lose everything on the shores of Hope Island.
“Tidewater Inn” is a thriller in that characters lives are in danger practically from the first page. There is a kidnapping, suspicious new family and land developers who are what they seem. On top of this there is a romance between Libby and Alec a Coast Guard Lieutenant. Ms. Coble knows how to write characters that come alive off the page. This is a fast-paced read that will keep you guessing as to what is really going on. When you add in the themes of trust, in each other and in God, as well as God has the control this story has the force of a rocket blast-off. I recommend this book highly!

Libby has a passion for historical restoration. Her partner is onsite of a potential restoration on Hope Island. Libby is two hours away from Hope Island as she is talking to her partner Nicole. Nicole is not only her partner she is her best friend since childhood. Nicole tells her that Libby has inherited the Tidewater Inn on Hope Island from her deceased father whom she thought had died when she was five years old, but come to find out he just passed away recently. Not only that she has a half-sister and half-brother. This was unreal for Libby to imagine. Then withing minutes of talking to Nicole she witnesses on a webcam her friend being kidnapped.
Could things get anymore complicated for Libby. She heads for Hope Island as soon as she reports to the police of her friends kidnapping. When she finally arrives at the island she talks to the local police, then asshe is making her way to Tidewater Inn she meets a handsome Coast Guard Lieutenant. She finds herself very attracted to him. But she has too many things to deal with besides an attraction to a man.
As the investigation in her friends kidnapping get's under way she becomes a suspect. This woman has so much on her plate I don't know how she keeps her sanity. She has the best help anyone could hope for and that is faith and trust in God to give her strength. Even though her new siblings do not trust her or care to have anything to do with her, there are others that do care and she can depend on them to believe in her and to pray for her and her missing friend.
She falls in love with Tidewater Inn and sees so much potential in her new home if she only had the money to complete a restoration on the place. But as it stands she might have to put it up for sale.
This author has always been able to pull me into her books. She has done so in this book also. This book is suspenseful, heart wrenching, inspirational and romantic. Although I did think it was a little unbelievable about the circumstances of her friend Nicole it was still an amazing read.
I highly recommend this book.

Imagine...
You are a witness to the kidnapping of your best friend
Your father who you were told as a child was dead, only recently passed away with a last wish
A cave that holds many secrets
A family you never knew--
What would you do if you witnessed your best friend and business partner kidnapped while watching a beach webcam on your computer from many miles away? How well would you hold up knowing the authorities suspect you? Would you continue to press on to find her? Who would you trust? Who could you befriend? Would you be able to extend mercy and grace to siblings you have only just met, and who doesn’t want to know you?
Colleen Coble has brought Libby, Nicole, Vanessa, Brent, Aunt Pearl, and more to life! The relationships among the characters is well written, believable and... stresses both positive and negative feelings. The emotional ups-and-downs kept me, the reader, involved in the many twists and turns of the plot.
Colleen’s ingenuity in using a simple WWJD necklace to strengthen Libby’s faith, and introduce Jesus Christ’s patience and love to the characters and therefore the reader, as personal Lord and Savior. A wonderful story that I think you will enjoy reading.
I look forward to reading the second book in The Hope Beach series, Rosemary Cottage, available July 2013!

Just to clarify from the beginning, I am not a suspense reader. So why am I reading Colleen Coble? Great question! Because she's so much more than just a suspense writer. She delicately weaves suspense with romance and mystery that makes me forget at times that I am actually sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the plot to play itself out.
I have come to expect only the best from Coble because all of her other books are such great reads. I knew from the beginning and even from the cover that I was going to like this book. The cover was eye-catching and captures the intrigue that the readers experience when they are reading her books.
The first book in the Hope Beach series, it takes place at Tidewater Inn where your only entrance onto the island and your only exit is by boat. Libby Holladay suddenly finds her friend missing and watches on webcam as her friend is enduring a needle and an attempt at kidnapping. Why would these men want Nicole and would Libby want Tidewater Inn after all of this?

I loved that this book immediately drew me in. It immediately piques the readers interest with heart pounding suspense. I was completely immersed in the plot which contained storm-invoking drama and action that held my attention until the very last word.
I thought that the messages Colleen wanted readers to capture such as forgiveness and redemption were clear and well spaced, without being over powering. Libby's spiritual journey was touching as well.
As I read a book, the character's traits is something that I try to pay close attention to. Libby, Alec and the peripheral characters were all believable and relatable. My favorite moment of the book was when Libby began to contemplate, "WWJD?" What Would Jesus Do? in areas of her life. Like every human, Libby failed, but she mentally acknowledged her failures and confessed them to the pages of a notebook.
The plot, characters and cover were all great, but the book held one or shortcoming. As I read, I couldn't find a reasonable explanation as to why Nicole, Libby's business partner, was kidnapped. I really don't like untied strings in a book and that flaw deducts from my experience. I almost didn't notice it until I finished the book because the spiritual journeys captured my attention. Also, the language used in the romance parts was a bit outdated.
If your looking for a book with emotion, suspense and a dash of historical element or just a good, ol' fashion love story, don't hesitate to read Tidewater Inn. It will keep your interest high. I'd rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Libby Holladay and her partner Nicole Ingram work together at a business called Holladay Renovations. They work to convince owners to dramatically increase the value of their historic properties by entrusting them to Libby's expertise.
When Libby receives a phone call from Nicole telling her that her father, Ray Mitchell has left her some prime real estate worth millions in his will. In fact the entire west side of the island and the Tidewater Inn now belongs to her. The Tidewater Inn is only accessible by boat and it's right along the ocean. More than thrilled to get the chance to see the possibilities, Libby asks Nicole to set her up via a webcam to see the property she's about to inherit but Nicole also tells her that she has a half brother, Brent and half sister, Vanessa they she never knew about until today. Thinking she had no remaining family left, Libby is thrilled with the idea she might get a chance to know her brother and sister. In fact Nicole tells Libby that she will get Vanessa on the webcam when they meet at the lighthouse ruins where Vanessa is scheduled to show her around. Then she can see her before they actually met.
However when Libby pulls up the web cam link on her laptop she see's Nicole confronted by two men who inject her with a needle, and attempt to carry her off. As Libby attempts to call 911, she tries to record the video link but it goes dark before she can save anything. Using all her computer skills, she accidentally deletes the link from the computer. Now she has no proof to show the police. What will happen to Nicole and just why were these men after her? As she races to the Outer Banks to find Nicole, the mystery is about to intensify!
In the latest novel by Colleen Coble, Tidewater Inn is the first in the Hope Beach series, and immediately engages the readers adrenaline in this heart pounding suspense novel with a twist of intrigue and romance. When Libby arrives in the Outer Banks she is the first the police suspect in Nicole's disappearance and while they launch an investigation to prove her guilt, Libby has to launch her own search to find Nicole before she winds up dead. She enlists the help of Alec Bourne, Chief Petty Officer for the Coast Guard in her search along with trying to deal with her new found family who aren't please to learn that they are sharing their inheritance with a sister they never knew. This book is guaranteed to keep your interest at an all time high as the suspense grows as the tidewaters continue to rise!
I received Tidewater Inn by Colleen Coble compliments of Litfuse Publicity for my honest review and have to say there hasn't been one book that I've read by Colleen Coble that wasn't a winner in my opinion. This is a great series I can see developing because the cast of characters from Libby's new found family, to her warm and loving Aunt Pearl are guaranteed to make you want to keep coming back for more. I rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars and was up in the wee hours of the morning because I started reading it so late, I thought I would be able to put it down, but I couldn't! Sleep deprivation has never felt to good and so worth it too! I highly recommend this one if you love a bit of mystery with some intrigue, suspense and romance with the ocean as your backdrop!
