Looking unflinchingly into the eyes of war, young Stephen Crane has given us a portrait of the terror and loss of the civil war and the impact it can had on a youthful boy. From egotism and fear to courage and wisdom, the transformation of Henry Fleming ranks as one of America's best works of fiction. 100 pages, softcover.

No frills, no fuss, and a great compact size. I ordered this as a classroom book to check out to students. It was the best choice for the price. You get the same great story without paying several dollars a copy. If you are looking for a way to share great literature without great expense, this would be a good choice for you. I also have copies of The Scarlet Letter.
