Elizabeth Goddard in her new book, “Oregon Outback” another in the Romancing America series published by Barbour Publishing Inc. gives us four stories, each one about a different Love brother in modern-day Oregon.

Four stories about four different brothers whose last name is “Love”. So, obviously, that makes these stories love stories. Okay, bad pun, I couldn’t help it, however, it is true, each of these stories is a romance. Each of these stories is also an action-adventure that will keep you turning pages. “Oregon Outback” is great fun to read. Prior to this I had never heard of the Oregon Outback but Ms. Goddard does such a great job with her descriptions it makes you want to go and visit, rent an ATV from Lucas and go exploring. Ms. Goddard has a great way of telling each story and moving them along at a nice pace. Her characters are wonderful and she gives them life and unique voices. I liked this book a lot.

Another book in the Romancing America line. This book tells the stories of four brothers Jonas,Carver,Lucas and Justin Love. We start out with Jonas who has returned to Oregon to decompress after having a FBI operation go terribly wrong. He hopes to restart a romance with his high school flame Darcy.
Carver is a rancher and his cattle have been stolen. Sheriff Sheridan wants to help but they don’t get alone very well. Will Carver’s heart get stolen as well?
Lucas is a thrill seeker and plans to never marry and get tied down. Along comes Sierra who not only start to put his books in order but may also steal this forever bachelors heart.
The book ends with Justin a bounty hunter back in Oregon to hunt his next criminal. He stays at a lodge owned by Darrow who happens to be the criminals sister. Will love find its way into the hunt?
This book was okay but I did not like it as much as some other books I have read in this line.
What I liked: I liked that the story followed a family of brothers. They where all interesting characters. The ladies I liked as well. Each of the story lines where good and even though they where shorter stories the suspense was good considering there was not as much time to develop. The third story about Lucas and Sierra was my favorite of the four.
What I did not like: I know these are short stories and so the plot has to be condensed quite a but I am not real big on the whole falling in love with in days. The first story was not so bad as they had know each other 10 years before but it was kind of weak at best. A few weeks did pass in the last two stories but again it was just not as exciting and left me going that’s it?
The stories where well written but the romance was just not as good as I had hoped for.

This book contains four stories but each story can stand on its own or they can be read as a group. I liked each story and found them all to be interesting and fun to read.
The setting is described beautifully and really adds to all the stories. You will want to visit the area after reading this! The characters are well developed for the stories being short. I thought the author did a good job at giving you a feel for the personalities and personal issues each of the main characters had.
Of the four stories I enjoyed the third one the best. I enjoyed them all but this one seemed the most genuine. In that story the relationship develops in a realistic way and the interaction of the two main characters was entertaining.
I gave this book 5/5 stars. I thought for the length of the stories they were well-developed and interesting reads. I thought the intrigue and mystery that was in some of the stories was believable and made the stories move along quickly. If you are looking for an easy and quick read to escape into, these stories would be great.

I’d never heard of the Oregon Outback before reading this 4-in-1 Romancing America collection. Wikipedia tells me it’s a high desert region on Oregon’s southern edge, straddling the Nevada/California border, and home to adventurers and ranchers.
This set of four contemporary romantic suspense stories features the Love brothers, men who grew up in the outback in a rough-and-tumble family. Both of their parents are dead, and the brothers have varying ties with each other and the rugged land that birthed them.
In the first novella, “A Love Remembered,” Jonas Love is an FBI agent on temporary leave. Once he’d intended to marry the preacher’s daughter, but the man wouldn’t give his blessing. Now the preacher is dead and Darcy still single–and more desirable than ever. But Jonas suspects trouble has trailed him to the outback, and the last thing he wants to do is hurt Darcy. Again.
“A Love Kindled” is about the oldest brother, Carver Love. He inherited the family ranch and he’s as tough a cowpoke as you’ll find anywhere. If he weren’t so opinionated, he wouldn’t have made an enemy of Sheridan Hall by saying a woman could handle being Sheriff. What he meant, but couldn’t say, was a woman he cared about shouldn’t be in the hot seat. But when rustlers steal a bunch of his cattle, he’s forced to work with Sheridan, who’s just as stubborn as he is. Lots of flying sparks ensue.
Lucas Love is the owner of an ATV rental shop in “A Love Risked.” His friends are no fun any more. They’ve gotten married and settled down–no more leaping ATVs off sand dunes in the outback. Lucas hires a bookkeeper to straighten out his accounts and finds Avery his polar opposite–a gal who likes order and dislikes spontaneity and risks. Maybe he can coax her into a skydiving adventure. Maybe she can show him settling down isn’t a fate worse than death.
In the final novella, “A Love Recovered,” Justin Love is a bounty hunter who’s avoided Oregon for years. Now, however, the man he seeks is headed for the outback and Justin’s not about to let him get away. He checks into Darrow’s lodge while he awaits his quarry. Darrow’s been waiting for her boyfriend to propose. When she meets Justin, she begins to wonder if she’s settling for second-best in her hoped-for life with Smit. But what is Justin really up to in the Oregon Outback?
These four stories showcase some of the dangers when folks in assorted law enforcement capacities fall in love. More than that, though, Oregon Outback is a fun read with suspenseful elements.

Oregon Outback is another four-in-one romantic novella collection from Barbour Publishing, set in the high desert country of Oregon, apparently referred to as the Oregon Outback (sorry, Australians). The stories centre around the four Love brothers:
In A Love Remembered, FBI agent Jonas Love is back in Oregon after a mission went wrong, and uses the opportunity to try to reconnect with Darcy Nicholls, the girl he left behind;
In A Love Kindled, Rancher Carver Love has cattle rustlers on his ranch, and has to turn for help to the attractive Sheriff Sheridan Hall, who he once dated and still has feelings for;
A Love Risked is the story of adrenaline junkie Lucas Love, who finds himself falling for his bookish accountant Sierra, who has been warned against falling for Lucas the heartbreaker;
And finally, in A Love Recovered, bail bond recovery agent (bounty hunter) Justin Love is back home in Oregon, avoiding his brothers and falling for Darrow Kincaid while he waits for her brother, a fugitive, to pay her a visit.
While these stories are all nicely-written, simple romances with manly heroes and likeable heroines, I didn’t find that any of them had that extra something that lifted them beyond ordinary. It’s nothing I can pinpoint: they simply didn’t inspire me. An easy read.
