Every book I read by Ronie Kendig just keeps getting better. In Trinity, I wasn’t sure what to expect because I knew nothing about Military War Dogs, but since I love all of Ronies other books, I knew it would but good. But it wasn’t just good, it was so awesome I didn’t put the book down until I finished it!
I can’t say enough about Heath Daniels and his military war dog. I was in awe of the relationship the two of them had and Trinity was just amazing! I grew to love that dog like it was my own! And as usual, Ronie Kendig throws so many twists and turns into the story that she keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire book. I guess you can tell, I love, love this book, just as I love anything that Ronie Kendig writes! I can’t wait for the second book in this series to come out so I can meet another K9 friend!
I really recommend this book to whoever likes fiction. If you enjoy dog stories, or stories about war, you will enjoy this one too! Go grab a copy of this one, and watch out for the others in this amazing series from Ronie Kendig.

So I actually started this book way back in February, and was initially a little disappointed. I’d seen SO many people that I love raving about it, and at first, to be completely honest, it was a good book, but I wasn’t loving it like I’d hoped to. I read about 60 pages, then had to put it down…and wasn’t able to pick it up again until now due to heaps of books for review.
But then. This month. One afternoon I finally had a little down-time from review books, so I picked it up again, jumped back in…and was swept away. Wow. The action was non-stop, whipping through scenes in a very readable way. This is a war story that has alarming suspense (just what suspense should be!) and sweet romance (oh so sweet), all set in the Middle East. This book is definitely heart-pounding, and sure to keep you reading! I know, I was able to put it down at first…and you know? It may have just been my mood that day. But if the beginning feels slow to you, don’t worry – it picks up and flies in no time. By the end, I liked it so much that there are two things to note. 1. I gave it a 9.5. And 2. I promptly wrote the publisher and begged for a copy of Talon to review. And you know what? They sent it to me! Now I just have to start it. :) I’m definitely looking forward to reading more by Ronie!

This book had me hooked from the word go. The theme of self doubt and overcoming our lack of trust in God is beautifully woven into the story of Heath and Trinity. The action and characters come alive from the first page. Ronie has a wonderful way of weaving the characters into your heart, that you can't put the book down for wanting to find out what will happen next. I highly recommend this book and all of Ronie's other books. You won't be disappointed.

I got this book for my husband who was a dog handler in Vietnam for 3 tours. He said it is an excellent book and he really enjoyed it. I have ordered the other books in this series but he hasn't read them as yet. Thank you for bringing a smile to his eyes.

I love some of roni's other books, but this one I found a little slow and it lacked depth. I actually forced myself to finish it because I liked her other books so much! Not the worst book ever, just was expecting something much better from this author.

Sometimes life takes a turn that we aren't expecting. Discouragement can set in, even despair. But God uses all things to refine his children, making us into who we need to be.
Former Green Beret Heath Daniels and his Military War Dog, Trinity, are an inseparable team. After a career ending injury, Heath and Trinity become members of A Breed Apart, a unique program to boost morale for active military personnel. Their first assignment finds them in Afghanistan where they meet Darci Kintz.
Darci is illusive and careful to keep herself distanced from relationships due to her job but there's an instant connection between her and Heath. When she goes missing, Heath and Trinity are asked to join the Special Forces Team that's going into enemy controlled territory to find her and bring her back.
There's just no disappointment when I read book written by Ronie Kendig. Action. Faith. Suspense. Romance. It's all there, expertly written and woven together to keep me focused on one thing only...the story.
I love how my whole being felt suspended while reading this book. I was full of anticipation, anxiety, and joy; on pins and needles to see what was coming next. If even a fraction of what is written in this book could possibly be true concerning the MWD and handler relationship, then I have to say BRAVO to our military for cultivating some of the finest soldiers out there! And certainly a huge shout out to the author for educating me on such an important aspect of our military, creating fascinating scenarios that unequivocally make my heart pound and my soul weep for the dangers our men and women volunteer to put themselves in, all so I can have the privilege of being an American citizen!
I highly recommend this book to any lover of suspense, actually to anyone because if you're not a fan of high level military suspense now, you just may be after reading Trinity: Military War Dog. I'm looking forward to all the books in this exciting new series!

After three tours in the Special Forces, she outranked most of the men she worked with. Especially her handler Heath "Ghost" Daniels. War dogs and specialized search dogs were high-value targets. Terrorists paid big for dead military working dogs. She has countless lives saved under her belt and her final tour almost cost her and Heath their lives in Afghanistan. Thanks to the efforts of the new resolution signed into law by President Clinton a few years back, which allowed dogs to live out the remainder of their years rather than being euthanized after the military decided they were done with the dogs, Trinity has a second chance.
As one of three dogs working with their handlers at A Breed Apart Ranch in Texas, each of these teams is once again training for contract work from companies who have contractors on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan, even their own military. They've seen the great benefit of war dogs and will pay nice fees to have a for-hire availability. Especially since his latest request to rejoin his team as a chaplain was also turned down. It seems to Heath that God is keeping him from finding his true calling back into active service and soon grows frustrated in his own faith. For Heath this is the opportunity for them to get back into action since the IED concussion from the blast and shrapnel sliced through his skull and left him with a traumatic brain injury. This is a program designed by Jibril Khori, former Green Beret and colleague for former military war or working dogs and an opportunity to continue to utilize what they were trained for once again but in a different capacity.
When Heath and Trinity get called to Northern Afghanistan under contract for the Public Affairs Office, as part of a morale-boosting for the troops, he meets Darci Kintz. It seems they have a lot in common but Heath has to make sure to keep his stress in check. In fact that is why the other handlers, Timbrel Hogan and Aspen Courtland are also on this trip, to ensure he doesn't black out. The truth was spelled out on the three faces of the other ABA( A Breed Apart) members: They didn't trust him to do his job. They expected him to fail. God just wouldn't give him a break. And the more he stressed about it, the more he kept blacking out. Is it possible she can find someone who can truly love her despite her secrets or will Trinity be the only girl for Heath? When Heath receives word that a military intelligence officer, Darci who is gathering evidence tracking the Taliban as an undercover geological survey team member has been kidnapped, it will be just the golden opportunity for Heath and Trinity to be called back into action once again. Will he be able to keep his focus or will he put all their lives in danger?
In Trinity, Military War Dog by Ronie Kendig, we get an opportunity to see what its like to work with these handlers and their canine companions in the various military forces and see just how dangerous and truly rewarding their work can be in this fictional novel. Ronie did an exceptional job at her research into what it takes for both the canine and their handlers to work together in some dangerous assignments. I am so honored to be able to look into a different side of serving in the military and just how far loyalty and honor go hand in hand with these service dogs. I also got an opportunity to view the Belgian Malinois that is Trinity's breed of dog and learn more about them after I finished this book. Truly a remarkable breed of dog that is highly intelligent for this line of work.

Trinity was a fast paced read full of action, twists and plenty edge of your seat moments. I had a hard time putting the book down as, just when I thought I’d found a place to stop, something exciting happened and I was hooked again.
The characters were by far the best part of the book. They were all very realistic and the way their voices were written felt natural. Two of my favorite characters turned out to be Timbrel (who will be getting her own book sometime soon, yay!) and Candyman, who was just funny. The real star of the book though, was Trinity, Heath’s MWD. She was a truly amazing animal with such a strong personality and so much love for Heath. She was a great reminder that our four legged soldiers are heroes as well as our men and women in uniform.
At the beginning I was confused by all the different characters and plot points that seemed to be introduced rather quickly but once I got everything figured out it was smooth sailing from there.
Trinity is the first book I’ve read by Ronie Kendig and I can’t wait to read some more! If you’re a fan of action and intrigue I would absolutely recommend this book.

Trinity combines Kendig's trademark discarded heroes with the military war dogs. The result is a book I couldn't put down and thoroughly enjoy. Kendig writes military very well, placing the reader in the middle of the action and not letting go. At the end there were a couple times I had to stretch what I thought could really happen, but I willingly did it because I wanted the characters to win. And the twists and turns were great. Combine a broken hero with a broken heroine, an international crisis on the horizon and one amazing dog and this is a great military thriller/suspense. Thoroughly enjoyed it and CANNOT wait for the next book!

Ronie Kendig has knocked another one out of the ball park. I don't know how she does it but each book is better than the one before. Take an ex-green beret and add a mystery woman, a war dog that will willingly die for her owner and bombs, caves, avalanche, spies and you have have a 5 Star book. The pace is fast, catches your attention on the first page and doesn't let go. I loved her "Discarded Heroes" series but this new series is even better. Can't wait for the next one.

Staff Sergeant Heath “Ghost” Daniels ‘ closest partner is Trinity, his Special Forces-trained military war dog, until Trinity attempts to prevent his actions. Misunderstanding Trinity’s actions, Daniels and Trinity go stateside after injuries in a bomb explosion. When Daniels gets the chance to return to the battlefields, even though it is only as a moral booster, he and Trinity go. Then circumstances, force them back into action.
Great story, I enjoyed every minute. I admit I am a dog lover and I admire all of our military professionals, but the story captured my imagination and I found myself praying for the safety of the characters, a sure sign of my enjoyment. The characters and the story completely pulled me in. I could not put it down, part love story, part military story, and all dog. Highly enjoyable, I can not wait for the next one in the series. I recommend it for those who look for more in a story line than romance.

This is a very entertaining book and each page will have you wanting to read more. The main character, Heath, was injured while at war. He is able to get back to work in an organization called A Breed Apart. This organization uses both himself and his dog Trinity to help out where the military needs them. This is not your typical romance book but there is some romance in it. I thought the relationship of the main characters was believable.
I gave this book 5/5 stars. I liked how there was action, romance and intrigue. This book flowed well and was well written. The main characters of Heath, Darci and of course Trinity the dog, are all enjoyable and easy to fall in love with. The story itself is filled with action and is fun to read. This book has a great story to escape into. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian fiction and action books.

My review of TRINITY by Ronie Kendig:
Wow.....I never knew.....
When I first heard about this book, I was intrigued, because I love dogs. I'd never read a book about the military, but I was willing to give it a chance. And boy oh boy am I glad I did! Thanks to Ronie, I now know what MWDs and their handlers do, how they risk their lives to save others. As I read TRINITY, my heart went out to those soldiers and that wonderful dog. This book opened up my eyes to what is truly going on outside of my safe little town. As I was reading this book, I found myself totally immersed in each scene. At times, I felt the bitter cold that surrounded Heath and Trinity so much, that I had to remind myself that I was in a nice, warm and safe place.....I can guarantee that you will have a hard time putting this book down once you start reading it. You will find yourself laughing, crying, hoping, praying and cheering. Again, I say...Wow.

Ronie Kendig books rope me in and hold me hostage. Under the light of the interrogation lamps, I get quite an education on special ops and the flaws of the human condition. But don’t think it’s an unpleasant experience.
Teams of soldiers, honorable, chivalrous, and quirky, (yet still deeply flawed) come to my rescue every time. (I love that).
And there’s this: Every time I finish one of her books, I’ve seen the hand of God at work.
Trinity: Military War Dog, the first novel in Ronie’s A Breed Apart series offers even more. Because at the heart of the intrigue and espionage is the story of a hurting former Green Beret and his loyal MWD (Military Working Dog).
I’ll tell you, Trinity, with her rippling black and ginger coat and inquisitive amber eyes, is the heart and soul of the story. She’s fiercely loyal, aggressively protective, and doggishly intuitive. There’s no point in hiding it.
I fell for her. I love her. And--she made me love my dog even more. (Although mine is nowhere near as amazing.)
The rest of the story commandeered my time and pulled me along on a search for redemption. I followed Heath “Ghost” Daniels deep into the icy wilderness of the Hindu Kush along the Chinese/Afghani border. Let me tell you, it was a bumpy, dangerous, heart-stopping trek.
Good thing Trinity and Ghost were there.
It’s a book I’ll read again.

Great new series by Ronie Kendig!

Honestly I have totally enjoyed every book from Ronie Kendig that I have read (and I have read every book she has written ;-) She has a great voice with so many facets that she weaves together... mystery, romance, political intrigue, overseas locations, military situations, great characters and strong plots. This book starts a new series about retired military war dogs that get called back into action. The first one focuses on Trinity and her handler, Heath, who was released from the military after he suffered from TBI (traumatic brain injuries) while on a mission. Trinity was so committed to Heath that after his release she wouldn't work for anyone else so the military retired her too. Now they are back in training and end up on a mission sooner than anyone anticipated. But can Heath set aside what he thinks his wants and desires are to find God's purpose for his life before he gets anyone hurt? This book had a much stronger romance line than I expected but the military side was strong and dominant like expected. I think Ronie has another winning series on her hands. If you haven't read her other series (Discarded Heroes) then you totally need to check those 4 books out as well!

Okay.. sorry about that! But this was one GREAT book!! Want high-impact action, military suspense, romance, adventure, great characters, and a theme that gets you thinking. . .than look no further than Ronie Kendig. This author has a knack for grabbing you and shoving you right in the middle of some pretty intense, heart-thumping action. Every night when I curled up to read, I felt like I was roaming around the blistery caves in Afghanistan with a loyal German Shepherd by my side, being targeted by rogue Chinese madmen. Now, how often do you get to feel like that? (Especially from the safety of your own couch.. which is where I prefer to be!) Ms. Kendig's characters are always wounded in some way. . .and I don't mean just on the outside, but that's what makes them real. Aren't we all wounded from life? Don't we all need second chances and new hope? That's exactly what the hero and heroine in this story need, from each other and from God. The fun part is watching them grow and change and reach out for that lifeline. Add to that tons of hunky military guys, the rescue of the hero's lady love, and my favorite character, Trinity, the dog who stole my heart, and this was one fun read!! I guarantee once you start this book, you won't be able to stop turning the pages.
