David C. Cook The God Who Sees You: Look to Him When You Feel Discouraged, Forgotten, or Invisible - eBook

When life circumstances become overwhelming--your marriage is in trouble, unemployment has drained your resources, or your children choose not to honor God--it can take a toll on your heart. You may even begin to feel like God has disappeared, leaving you to face your troubles alone. Tammy Maltby faced these feelings in her own life, and found strength in knowing that God did see her, and does see her, and loves her for who she is. In The God Who Sees You, she encourages women to look to God when they feel discouraged, forgotten or invisible, and take comfort in the story of Hagar, another woman who faced difficult circumstances and overcame them knowing God's presence was with her. The God Who Sees You also includes an 8-week Study Guide for group discussion.

"I saw you in your need. And I still see you. I am restoring all you though was lost, all you grieved and left behind. For with Me, all things are new". We all need to know that we are seen and heard. In the journey through this amazing book, Tammy shares those simple little words of "I See You". The walls break down and the tears start to flow. It's in this moment we realize that we are not alone and the God, our Father, Our comforter is real, he is right in front of us wiping away our tears. This book is FULL of truths of Jesus seeing us right were we are, reminding us to see Jesus in others and most importantly to be Jesus to those around us. This is a fantastic book and one I plan to give to several people that I know that need to hear those words "I See You".

This book speaks such powerful truths. In my opinion, when someone writes a book about God seeing people in the middle of their brokenness, the author to be able to truly see people. It's no small task, but Tammy does just that. This book is far more than a cushy feel good book. Just the beginning blew me away when she writes about different kinds or groups of people who feel forgotten or invisible. I found myself in more than a few categories. Realizing that God sees me is wonderful, but the book doesn't stop there. She goes on to explain powerful but simple ways for us to see God in our lives. She offers no magic formula, and that's a good thing, but she does offer insight into why at times we can't seem to see God. Through her very honest stories of her own life Tammy took me on a journey that opened my eyes to finding God in places I didn't always look and made me also revisit places I knew I saw Him, but didn't fully realize His loving hand at work. Then she brings the book full circle. As we find freedom from experiencing God's loving care she invite us to share that with others. To me there is nothing more powerful than really knowing in my heart that God sees me just as I am and loves me and is working on my behalf to give me His very best care. This book truly changed my perspective.

God sees and He knows. That can bring comfort to us or fear, but when we know He also loves and cares for us we can go on to see others as God sees them and reach out to them.

Our God loves us, all the time, fully. He knows us through and through, yet still pursues us, still cares, still values and wants us with Him at the end of our time on earth. So many things in this world pull us away from Him. Often, it does feel He's not there; it has many, many times for me. I still struggle with feeling just how much He loves me. This book reminded me of the One who created me and calls me, every single day.

This author made it ok for me to be part of the human race. Made me see that I am not alone in my struggles. That I am human and not strange or unhinged. And she made me see the challenge to really listen to others and affirm them. Great Book!!!

I haven't finished reading the book yet so I didn't want to comment. However, after seeing a video of an interview with the author I had to say it made me think of a song. The song that came to mind is Walt Harrah's Think About His Love. The simple words:
Think about his love
Think about his goodness
Think about his grace that's brought us through
For as high as the heavens above
So great is the measure of our Father's love
Great is the measure of our Father's love
How could I forget his love?
How could I forget his mercy?
He satisfies. He satisfies. He satisfies my desire.
Even when I've strayed away
His love has sought me out and found me
Those times I've been
Away from him
His loving arms have held me fast
I think for me, reading the book has been like reading a personal love letter from the Lord of how great is His love for me. I know I believe and I know He lives in my heart but my soul did need to hear about His love once again. The message of the book is just so refreshing and as usual life giving to my soul. I fall at my Lord's feet once again and worship Him for He is good and His love endures forever!

Wow!!! I am so thankful for this book!!! So much insights, stories and wonderful encouragement shared in this awesome book. My two friends and I have been meeting at my home every Thursday morning to discuss this study. We will be completeing chapter 7 and 8 next Thursday. I will so miss this study when we are done. It has really touched my heart and made me see the God who sees me!!! I have highlighted and made notes on almost every page. I was especially touched to tears when reading chapter 7. It is so honest and if you ever doubted God Sees You then this book is for you. It will comfort and encourage your heart. Thank you for writing this book Tammy. It is a blessing and a gift to my heart!

In her best book yet, Maltby writes words of hope and healing for people who feel discouraged, forgotten and invisible. In a society where we carefully construct and manage Facebook images, where we boast hundreds of acquaintances and few friends, where text messages substitute for real relationships--many are acquainted with feeling invisible. The message that God sees you, knows you, loves you and forgives you is life-giving. Tammy's practical and down to earth approach strips away pretence and helps you see God's intimate care and concern in practical ways. You'll want a copy for yourself--and another for a friend who needs some encouragement.

This author is very direct and I especially liked how her personality came out in her writing. If you are feeling lonely or lost in the crowd this book is perfect. Our relationship with Christ should be our most important one and understanding how much Christ loves us can change our whole perspective on life.
I thought the book was very encouraging and will really help you in your thinking. You will realize that mattering to Christ is what matters, not how many names you have listed under “friends.” Understanding that Christ loves you and no person can care for you as much as Him, is one of the major lessons in the book. There was not a page in the book that I did not find something to think about or learn from.
I found the book to be entertaining without haughtiness. I liked everything about the book and think it is perfect for every woman to read, especially those going through a difficult time or feeling discouraged.
I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.
