With our nation in the worst condition that I can remember, physically, financially, morally, ethically, spiritually, etc., I am feeling led of the Lord to attempt change (REVIVAL), beginning in the church I pastor (I realize that revival must first begin with me!) In my reading I came across a reference to Dr. Kaiser's book "Revive Us Again" and immediately felt led to order it. The book isn't disappointing! Even though it was written several years ago it is clearly applicable to this nation and this people today! In each of Dr. Kaiser's review of biblical revivals, bringing God's people back from their backslidden condition, I was able to see the United States of America, its leaders and its citizens. I can see us (America) traveling a path parallel to Israel (including that nation's degradation and desertion of their God) and as I think of God's wrath and punishment of Israel, I feel a deep foreboding for what I believe lies ahead for America and her people unless we, as a nation and as a people, heed the warning and admonition of 2 Chronicles 7:14. Personally, I believe that God's judgment is already falling on us and that we, as a nation and a people, are already "reaping what we have sown." I also believe that it's high time we invoke God's Name in our daily lives for reasons other than a "by-word."

Walter Kaiser has given us a fresh approach to spiritual renewal. Particularly, he has shown us how to extract characteristics of Old Testament individuals that will develop bring personal revival. This is a book I will read again for personal renewal.
