James MacDonald asks this question five different ways in his invitation at the beginning of his book, “Lord Change Me”. The intention of this book is to help people transform—“a kind of do-it-yourself surgery”. It is about becoming radically different. It involves work on our part. If you really desire to change, MacDonald’s guidance can help you discover “the areas in your life that need change, the biblical process for change, and the power behind lasting change.”
A mere reading of “Lord Change Me” is not enough. It must be processed. Studied. Worked. Each chapter will take about an hour to read and work through the exercises. Properly completed, you should recognize some noticeable differences in your life. Skipping over the work will only result in wasting your time. If you aren’t serious about making changes in your life to be obedient to God, then this book isn’t for you. If you truly desire to follow God’s plan for your life, this book will be an invaluable resource to help you achieve the joy that God intends for your life.

Review 2 for Lord, Change Me / New edition - eBook
I am a professional Christian counselor. This book is simply the best one I've found regarding how to be involved in and do Christ-centered and Holy Spirit-driven personal change. It is both challenging and practical. James MacDonald is a powerful speaker and his writing is equally as powerful. Check this book out if you've been unable to break the sin-confess-sin-confess cycle of attempted change. James MacDonald will show you the Biblical way out so that you can make real change in your life.
