I purchased this book b/c it was a Spurgeon book. He is one of my favorite authors. I was first disappointed when I realized the book was Spurgeon's devotions with extra insight from another author, but though that is okay, I still have what I paid for. Well, the author has "rewrote in today's language" Spurgeon's devotions. I can't even read it, I have tried and it is just not Spurgeon's words. I have already placed the book in my give away pile. If I had bought it at a store, I would have returned it.

This devotional book is wonderful for day by day reading. However when I started reading, I wanted to turn to the next page. I've had so many "light-bulb" moments while reading, it's been magnificant to help me grow spiritually. I recommend this book to everyone. It is one of my favorite.
