I think the author's, Ann Spangler and Lois Tverberg, open up the world of Jesus as seen through Jewish eyes in a way that makes it easy to grasp for those who, perhaps, see things a little too much from a Western perspective. I found the book to be informative and enjoyable to read. So much so that I purchased the second book by Lois Tverberg dealing with a similar theme. Highly recommended!

I loved this book; it was exactly as promised and extremely enlightening in regards to the Jewishness of Jesus and how that's important to our understanding of the whole of Scripture. I will be ordering the next book in the series.

This book is an excellent inside look into the culture and environment at the time of Jesus' ministry, particularly with the Disciples. It deepens one's knowledge of Jesus' ministry, the Passover feast in the Upper Room,his time praying at Gethsemene, and how his Jewishness influenced his ministry and relationships.

This books was an answer to my prayers to learn more about the "Jewishness of Jesus". This is a beautifully written book and it's VERY easy to read. This book is one of my top personal library favorites and I'm always recommending it to others to purchase.

I am fast becoming an Ann Spangler fan! After reading two of her other books I was anxious to receive this one for review.
If you have ever wondered if you are missing something deeper in the stories of the gospels this is the book for you. In it the authors enlighten the reader on the customs and life of biblical times as well as rabbinical teachings. The language spoken was much deeper and richer than what can be conveyed in modern translations. Things that we think are vague examples those of that time could relate to on a deep and personal lever.
Discover the depth and richness of the gospels and appreciated the far-reaching, life changing words of Christ all the more. In these pages you will discover a well of knowledge and you will close it with clearer sight and deeper understanding of the precious living word of God.

This is my second copy of this title. My first one has been borrowed so many times I've lost track of it so got this one for our church library. Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus has opened up the NT and the teachings of Jesus so that reading His words now is like reading them for the first time. Made them so alive and relevant - excellent book that every believer should read.

This is a fascinating book! It taught me much I didn't know about the life of Jews in Bible times, which makes understanding many of Jesus' sayings much easier. I've been into Bible study for many years, but no other book has given me so much understanding with so much ease. It has also prompted me to make some changes in my own life as a result of the better understanding I have gained.

The authors have a homespun story telling quality that mentally takes me right to the time Jesus walked the earth. They weave that facts of the day together nicely with the acts and teaching of Jesus. He wasn't just an unusual man who popped into their society but an inspiring man, the Son of God, who used the societal culture to speak spiritually to the hearts of the people through already know methods. Excellent!

Oh, I loved this book; what a sensitive look at the Jewish roots of Christian faith. Not only is it an easy read but it goes deeper into Jesus' Judaism than anything else I have read so far. I use this book in developing sermons on the Jewish roots of Christianity.
