Zondervan Basics of Biblical Greek Grammar, Third Edition

First published in 1993, Basics of Biblical Greek is the most popular introduction to the field, used in universities and seminaries around the world. Over 200,000 students have learned biblical Greek under its guidance. This significant third edition has been carefully developed in consultation with instructors, students, self-learners, and homeschoolers. Users can now take advantage to the many improvements made at the book's website, www.Teknia.com, where they will find---for free---an online course, walking students through every chapter; vocabulary flashcards; video and audio helps; Greek fonts; quizzes for each chapter; fun songs and games; and much, much more.

Now in a larger size, with an attractive 2-color design, the third edition adds an element of fun, with encouragement, songs, and more, which appear in the margins. Chapter 35 has been split into two chapters, 'half-time review' sections have been added to every chapter, and new exegesis sections are now included. These and other improvements serve to enhance the learning experience and will continue BBG's legacy as the premier introduction to biblical Greek.

This is up and away the best Greek grammar available for the beginning student. The third edition has full color pages that are visually captivating and interesting to the reader. It is such a great tool that you could learn it yourself without a structured class.
This is for people wanting to learn the original language of the NT, and it starts from scratch. You do not need any experience starting out, this book picks up learning the alphabet.

This book by William D. Mounce should prove to be a help in learning Basic Biblical Greek. There are exercises to test your knowledge after each section. The information is presented very well and easy to understand and has a unique learning approach using scripture to assist in grasping the fundamentals of Greek. I am looking forward to moving forward using this text along with the CD and additional helps provided via Mr. Mounce's website.

I had BBG 2. Yet when I saw BBG 3 and the workbook together, I had to get both. Glad I did. Love the new look and the flow.

As it has always been, Mounce's work is second to none. Comprehensive, and challenging but also written with an innate understanding of how conceptually foreig a language Greek is, this is an oustanding text. Zondervan however, seems to have turned it in to a middle school text book complete with cartoon characters. The format of the 3rd ed is lame beyond words. But the Mounce's quality content remains nevertheless.

This book is certainly a prime choice text to learning biblical greek. It's not like other texts which focus on other things rather than the foundational elements of Koine Greek; it's aim is to get you to read Biblical Greek ASAP. No disregard to other texts, but if you want to get the true basics for beginning, this text is it. After just learning some of the things in the first couple of chapters, I could start reading some words in Greek, and pretty soon a chapter in the Bible! I have only begun to study using this book and certainly it has been a great blessing. Highly recommend it to anyone interested

The book is Great for all those who want to learn the basics and how to read and understand biblical Greek. This a easy to understand and learn kind of book. The author has done an excellent job on putting this info together along with the work book and the use of the website is a must to accelerate your learning in the comfort of your own home. Users beware that only the serious students should use the website links available as they are a little expensive if you purchase all 30 lectures. Although they are not necessary to learn and get a good grasp on the basics.
