Amazing the way Wanda has faith instilled in all the characters in The Silence of Winter which encourages each one to face each difficulty they encounter. The faith Meredith and her family along with Luke's family when they are informed Luke did not survive the bus crash. Faith in God will see individuals through each trial and Wanda has definitely illustrated this. I cannot wait to read rest of the series.

I love Wanda Brunstetter! Her stories were the first books I had read about the Amish. I have never been dissappointed. I loved The Silence of Winter & can't wait for The Hope of Spring. The stories are short and would be good all together but it's interesting & leaves you wanting to read the next book to see how it turns out!

I am not pleased with way this series is being done. I would much rather have a single book than the series of books, of which each one can be read in one evening. I won't order another series if it is done this way.

Meredith learns of bad news about Luke and she is devastated. Things changed in just a blink of an eye. Life will never be the same. Meredith is beside herself but knows life must go on especially now that she has more than just herself to think about.
One day a knock comes at her door. An old friend shows up to offer Meredith support and to see if she is in need of help.
Who is this old friend? Will this be the beginning of new changes for Meredith?
Once again Wanda Brunstetter left us with a cliff hanger! I can't wait to read The Hope of Spring to find out what happens next.
You will love this series!

I have read almost all of the books by this author. I was so disappointed in this one. I ordered this one and Goodbye to Yesterday as an ebook and thought it strange that they only had 8 chapters each. I read each book in less than 2 hours. It reminded me of when I used to read installments of a book in a magazine. I certainly will not buy any more books from this author if this is what she is going to do. All three books would be the normal size of a book.

oh, my heart simply breaks for Meredith and for Luke. Meredith must struggle with both tragedy and joy and will she ever have Luke to share her life with again? I don't want to "spoil" the book, but I will say that I have been hanging on the edge of my seat as I read. The volumes, I realize, have upset some readers, but I actually enjoy the quick readability of these volumes and wait with bated breath for each new installment! I love seeing how the Amish help each other through hardtimes and truly wish that we had more of that going on among my world, the world of the Englisch.

Well, my first thought is WOW! I never saw this book going where it went. Luke's trip to his Uncle's in Indiana didn't go anywhere near as expected and it nearly breaks Merrie into a million pieces.
I literally only put my kindle down one time while I was reading this book because it was so wonderfully well written. The only reason I put it down then was because I had to fix the kids lunch and then I could not wait to get back to it. I am however sad that it ended because I don't have the next one to read just yet, so I am left hanging to see what happens next.
I have to admit that I am excited that Wanda Brunstetter wrote this series of books and I am hoping that she writes more of these along with her other books. Absolutely another job well done and another five start book!

This #2 book is like the first short and packed with action.
It shows life as it can be at times and that we have to
put our faith in God if we are to survive.

This Book was supplied to me by Barbour Publishers through Net Galley for a review in return.
Book Description
Join Meredith and Luke Stoltzfus, an Amish couple who are faced with the greatest challenge of their young lives. Financial struggles. Arguments. A confirmed pregnancy. A last-minute trip to South Bend, Indiana. A drug addict on the run. A deadly encounter at a Philadelphia bus station. Will their love and faith be enough to bring them back together again, against all odds?
My Review
This book is the 2nd in a 6 part series “Discovery Series”. This book is so good, I couldn’t hardly put it down. I would suggest to everyone who loves Amish as I do, to pick this book up and read it. You will be hooked.
Meredith and Luke in the first book dealt with how many challenges this couple has faced together. When Luke leaves for Indiana, Meredith is hopeful this will be a new beginning for them. Luke is going to go to Indiana to learn about a new business from his uncle.
Luke leaves for Indiana and when the bus makes a stop at one of the stops on schedule, Luke and Meredith’s lives turn upside down. In the meantime, Meredith gets some bad news. This is all I am going to say about this book because I don’t want to spoil it for all of you.
I think everyone should read this series by Wanda Brunstetter, she is one of the BEST Amish authors I have read. Thank you Wanda for giving us such a good series, but I’m dying to see what happens. Hehe. Thank you Barbour Publishing for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
I would suggest this book to all my family and friends. Go for it.
How Wanda portrays God working in people’s lives is absolutely AMAZING.
