Barbour Publishing The Pieces of Summer, Discovery Series #4

It's only been a few months since Meredith Stoltzfus lost her husband, Luke, and deep down, she feels uncomfortable when Jonah Miller comes by often, so willing to help her with things around the house. Meanwhile, as a young, nameless man heals and regains strength in his body, his mind grasps at every image that flits across his memory, desperately trying to recall his former life. . . .

I collect all the Amish genre books that I read, so I needed The Pieces of Summer, by Wanda Brunstetter, but they were like $6.99, but I received the book much lower that that. The value for your dollar was great, as well as the other books I purchased at that time...

I read this book in a couple of hours. Once you start you have to finish. I really enjoyed reading about what is going on in Meredith's life and what is happening in Luke's life. This is getting to be a real cliff hanger! Is Meredith falling for Jonah? On the other hand I am so frustrated that poor Luke still doesn't know who he is! I am looking forward to reading Part 5 - A Revelation in Autumn!

I was extremely disappointed with this entire series as were my friends. Each book was repetitive and could have easily been contained in a couple of chapters: the entire "6" books should have been "1" book.
The value was NOT there. I would never have bought all 6 EXCEPT I wanted to see how the story progressed, BUT...will never take this bait again. It was not typical Wanda Brunstetter, which neither was fair to her. The marketing was deceptive and unfair to the consumer.

The Pieces of Summer again brings Wanda's characters to life--from Luke awakening and not knowing his name, to the struggles Meredith has during the grieving process of Luke and her soon coming child. Wanda shows how the Amish and English are alike in ways of assisting one another in the time of need and that God is always the answer. I cannot wait to read book 5 in the series, A Revelation in Autumn. In my mind I have how book 6 will be the climax of this great series with the ending, thus I'm patiently waiting for book 5 & 6 being available.

This book was worth waiting for. I was glad to read the update on Eddie as well as Jonah and Meredith. I still believe I know how the series will end and cannot wait to see if I was right. I love the story because it deals with hardships, one's deep faith and the love (and hate) of family. It is amazing to see that the Amish and English have many things in common even though the lifestyles are totally different. Cannot wait for the next book...

Meredith is still mourning her loss of her husband Luke , and a old male friend shows up and keeps wanting to help her out all the time. Meanwhile her husband has woken up in a hospital and dosent know who he is. I now wonder if Luke will ever remember who he is, or fall for his nurse that has been taking care of him.

I have always enjoyed one book with the understanding that it usually takes three to complete all people involved but am disappointed in it being six books and then have to wait for the next one of the series. Outside of that it has been okay.

Wanda Brunstetter writes a great series, each makes you want to know what happens next. The series is progressing, Mereedith with her pregnancy; a new beau in Jonah, who breaks an ankle leaning on the tree and the awakening of Luke, known as Eddie in the hospital. Revelation in Autumn the next book makes you wonder where the characters will intersect.

I received this book yesterday and have already read it. It continues the story of Meredith struggling in the loss of her husband and anticipating the birth of their child. And it continues the life of Luke and his struggle to regain his memory. It's excellent reading.

I am so addicted to this series that I am thankful that I had part 4 on hand so that I could keep right on reading because I am not sure what I would have done not knowing what what was going to happen.
This is the best book in the series and I gave the other three five stars so what am I to give this one? Meredith's story is pulling at my heart strings and so is Luke's even though they are in completely different towns in completely different areas. Meredith's mother-in-law is starting to get on my nerves a bit with her over meddling in Meredith's life now that Luke is gone. Doesn't she realize that her son is gone and that Meredith will probably move on and remarry someone else and Jonah would be a great match for Meredith?
As for Luke and him being in the hospital and with his therapy moving right along and needing a place to stay, I think the idea on where he is going to stay is a great one. I think it will work out great.
I am so glad that Wanda Brunstetter decided to do this series and I hope that she does more like this! Definitely another 5 star book!
Now, I am off here to read more of part 5!!

I am falling in love with the characters in Wanda Brunstetter's 4th book in The Discovery-A Lancaster County Saga. Meredith and Luke are dealing with what appear to be insurmountable hardships. How will they ever get back together? I can empathize with the young nurse who seems to be falling for Luke and the young Amish man who is in love with Meredith and hoping to marry her. God can turn the impossible for us into the POSSIBLE though, and that is the message of the book series to me. I was once again left hanging from the cliff at the ending!! I am chomping at the bit to read the next book!
