A Generous Impulse: The Story of George Sweeting is a biography on this chancellor of Moody Bible Institure. The most memorable night of George Sweeting's life was Friday, August 16, 1940 when he heard David Otis Fuller speak on James 1:22 about not only being hearers of the Word but doers also. In the Spring of 1945, young George Sweeting went to the hospital doubled over in pain from a malignant tumor; even if he survived the damage the cancer had done, he couldn't expect to have children. Now, George and his wife have four sons and several grandchildren.

I knew "about" George Sweeting - he was in my time frame. But I never really KNEW George Sweeting. This bio made him personal to me. It is always great to read about the miracles God has wrought in the lives of men such as George Sweeting and how he was used in God's service. It is an inspiration to us all.

I remember seeing Mr. Sweeting when I first became a Christian back in the mid 50's. His chalk drawings were fascinating to me as a teenager. He also was a speaker at the Christian college I attended. I was impressed by his longevity in ministry.
