Well into her senior year of college, Katie thinks she's ready for her relationship with Rick to become more serious. Rick makes it clear he's ready to step up their relationship and goes out of his way to prove his intentions. When his schedule at work suddenly takes a turn, Katie doesn't mind having a chance to step back a little and take things more slowly. Rick's new roommate, Eli, complicates things by showing Katie a view of the universe on a midnight jaunt to see a meteor shower. Eli also shows Katie a view of the world she never saw before when he tells her how his father is in Nairobi, providing practical assistance in obtaining clean water in Africa. Thoughts of what to do with her future take on a broader view than when she was entirely focused on Rick. An unexpected call from her mother, a girls night out with Christy and a pizza making event with her fellow RA, Nicole are all intensified when her beloved car, Baby Hummer, takes its last wheeze. Will Katie be able to navigate her way through the remainder of her college career with no money, no transportation and no idea of what the future holds?

The second book was as good as the first! God is continuing to show me things through Katie's life! One big thing that really made me think is the way that Katie handled her finances near the end! I want to be like that where I put others needs above my own! Awesome book! Can't wait to read the third because I know it's going to be just as good! :)
Katie is back! Rick and her have finally had the DTR talk and are officially a couple. However, Katie learns that having a boyfriend doesn't make life any less complicated. They both have hectic schedules and spending time together is tough. However, God is always there beside them and soon Katie learns that God is always faithful.
I can't help laughing as I read about Katie's impulsiveness and mishaps! She is such a lovable character. I liked how her relationship with Julia, the RD, grew. Julia is such a great mentor for Katie in place of her parents.
The Katie Weldon books are great for teen girls who are entering college and are trying to figure out how to balance everything. Katie is like a forever friend to inspire girls to make good decisions and love God more!
*I received this book from Zondervan in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review.*
Robin Jones Gunn has done it again. She has given her all into her books. I fell in love with the series and re-read them over and over again. I think you will really enjoy this book, I know I did. I am seventeen years old and have enjoyed the Christy Miller and Sierra Jensen series immensely. I think any teenage girl will connect with Robin Jones Gunn's characters and will not want to put the book down. These books are a fast read.
Reading about Katie Weldon is like reading the story about one of your close friends. I grew up reading the Christy Miller and Sierra Jensen series so reading Katie's books is a must. I definitely miss being an undergrad student living in the dorms when I read this book. Dorm life is something everyone should experience. The adventures Katie has in the dorms just bring back a lot of memories. I loved the whole flower mystery. I was kind of worried about the way Katie and Eli's relationship was going. I don't want anything to compromise her relationship with Rick. The trip out to the desert, while breathtaking, did have grounds for concern from Christy and others. While totally innocent, I could see why eyebrows might have been raised especially at a Christian college. I do love reading about her and Rick's relationship. It's great to see Rick evolve from the high school jock who tried to get Christy to this really nice grown up guy who cares very much about Katie. I just do not understand Katie's mother. It seems that no matter what Katie does, she cannot please her. I would go absolutely berserk if she was my mom, but Katie handles her very well. She would be an interesting mother in law for whoever marries Katie. The whole story is just something almost every 20-something goes through. I, myself, could totally relate with Katie throughout her choice, decisions and feelings.I get excited every time I read a Robin Jones Gunn book because I know it will be a good read. I really love the characters she's created and I hope she'll never stop writing about them. I cannot until book 3 comes out!
