If you want adventure, this series is for you. If you love romance, prepare your heart. If you love history, it is going to take you on a journey. Tamera Alexander has a gift to bring faith alive in these historical novels. They begin the late 1800's. They bring your imagination to life in Timber Ridge, Colorado. Timber Ridge is a place of reflection for these three ladies. It is a time of growth as they are searching for who they are.
In book 1, From a Distance, we meet Elisabeth Westbrook, a photojournalist, on a journey to find healing. She has this mysterious disease and has been keeping her past a secret. She is trying to leave the past right where it is, but she is about to meet her past head on, the best way possible for healing a broken heart. There is murder, mystery, and romance. We watch Elisabeth grow and I must say it is a beautiful thing to see God work in her life.
In book 2, Beyond this Moment, we meet Molly Whitcomb. She is a professor of the romance languages. This woman is determined. This woman is on a mission to change the world, but she is the one we see doing the changing. Decisions are not always easy. Our choices at times are not our own to make, but Molly figures out what is best for her. Oh, the consequences of our actions are not always easy to learn from or even wanted, but we see the Lord move through her mistakes and bring blessings.
In book 3, Within My Heart, we meet Rachel Boyd, a rancher, taking over after the death of her husband. She is one determined woman with vision. She is not backing down from anyone. Rachel is a mother with a powerful love. From Rachel we learn to face our fears and trust in the Lord. This is not always easy. But within our heart is where we find God's strength and power to overcome all!!
This series is simply amazing. Three different women, all with different circumstances, all searching. In their search they find the same things. Faith, hope and love. They find the Lord on their side as He guides them through the trials they never expected, nor wanted. This is a journey you are going to love. And yes, there is love in the air. What would a romance be without the men who steal these women's hearts. Love is not always where we expect it.
