I used AIP A for kindergarten without the manual. I Thought this year I would buy it and try it out. Well worth it!! It gives you full instructions on how to teach each page in the workbook and provides answers to each lesson.

Very simply laid-out and easy to understand. It may seem quite easy to teach phonics in hindsight, but I have a degree in elementary education and I do find the teacher's manual helpful even though it doesn't seem like it is necessary. It is well worth the price.

I'm not sure I needed this, in retrospect. How hard is it to teach phonics? If you are unsure of yourself, it is worth the six bucks. Otherwise, you don't need it.
