What a wonderful piece writing this book is! I could actually pick up my bible and follow along with the book on poor Hezekiah's life. I have never ever been able to to that with any other historical fiction book. There is just the right amount of creative license from the author to make it believable, but not to much to distract it from the story. I just can't say enough great things about this book. Truly a great read.

I would highly recommend this book. Enjoyed reading very much. Gods and Kings is an excellent Christian book that follows the Bible. I would be interested in reading more in this series. Don't miss this one.

I got this books for free. I immediately bought the next 2 installments. Great books. I was encouraged & motivated to study the bible more. Lynn Austin has been added to my list of favourite authors. If you like Francine Rivers, you will love Lynn Austin.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I downloaded this eBook, but I was wonderfully and completely magnetized from beginning to end. I could not put this book down and was gravely disappointed when I finished it because I wanted to read more! Lynn Austin makes the story of King Hezekiah and those times come to life and you are taken on a realistic and spiritual journey as she brings to light the story of a young boy (a son of King David who had God's heart) born into privilege that is dominated by suspicion, misuse of power, selfish greed, corrupt government, murder, and most of all, idolatry and the abandonment of God. This book is a MUST read.

This was an incredibly personalized view into the life of King Hezekiah during his formative years. The dramatic pictures of the lives and times of ancient Judah draw the reader in to the uncertainty of being a son of a selfish, worldy King who has defiantly turned his back on God. I look forward to reading other works by this author, who so vividly brings history to life.

I (and all of my friends that this series has gone around to) LOVED this book and this series. It was certainly a "could not stop reading" series. As others have said it made me go read books of the Bible that I had never really delved into before, and made the book of Isaiah come alive in a whole new way. This has been my favourite series in a while and when it was done I certainly struggled with a little withdrawl. I went about a week without a book because I just couldn't find anything that could possibly compete. I will re-read this book in a few years... And I don't re-read much.
