Christiano Film Group Gold Through the Fire, DVD

When 17-year-old Peter Smyslov daringly escapes the Soviet Union and religious persecution, his dream of living in America comes true. But it's not as picture-perfect as he thought it would be. Even though he becomes an overnight soccer star, he still struggles with acceptance---and the trials he's about to face are more dangerous than the ones he battled in Russia! 79 minutes.

Presents a sad picture of mainstream American "Christianity" with many issues for those of us who are genuine Christians to face up to in our own daily walk. Above all, the message that God is a forgiving God to all who come to Him in true repentance was particularly appreciated.

It is a good movie for the family. It is inspirational, teachs you that no matter you go you will have battles to fight. The reason for I gave 4 stars? The actors do not give all the performance this story deserve.

Excellent and challenging film. Makes you take a hard and helpful look at our "western" Christianity; but not discouraging.

Even though this DVD is from some years ago, it's message it still totally relevant! I was a missionary to Russia shortly after the communist regime fell and this story is more fact than fiction. I've watched it many times, and each time something new ministers to me. It's especially for those who want to be or ARE totally committed to the Lord.

This is an excellent movie about a Russian boy who escapes the Soviet Union to find "freedom of religion" in America, but finds out different when he attends high school in the U.S. Very good film for teenagers struggling with peer pressures & being a true Christian in public schools. Get ready to sit on the edge of your seat when the Russian authorities come after him!
