The Thoenes always deliver a well written, well studied background for their historical fiction. They always make you care for the characters. You feel throughout, that you are right there with them in their struggles and triumphs. I plan to continue this series.

Definitely a very interesting book. It was very suspenseful. I learned a lot about Europe right before WWII. I would recommend this book, but only if you READ THE FIRST TWO BOOKS FIRST. Otherwise you will be massively confused. There are several plots in the book and all of them are continued from the first two books. The book is written in the omniscient point of view so it hops from character to character. It sometimes gets confusing even if you have read the first two books.

I have yet to read a book by the Thoene's that I do not like, and the entire Zion Covenant series is no different. If you have an interest in history and the tyranny of Hitler over Europe you will especially like this series. Even if you are just looking for a good read that will draw you into the story and make you feel as though you personally know the characters I highly recommend this series!
