We used these dvd's for 2 children, 1 in 12th grade and the other in 9th. The kids thought these were excellent. My son (9th) said they were great because he could see that Dr. Menton loves what he does therefore it helped him love to learn about Anatomy. For a whole year science (1) credit, I put together a lesson plan using these dvd's (and study guide), Body by Design Book, DK Human Body Book, and the Princeton Review Anatomy Coloring Workbook 3rd edition. I will be saving these Anatomy dvd's for my younger children for when they go into high school. My son wants to know if Dr. Menton can do another more advanced Anatomy class. :)

I purchased these for my 4th child, an 8th grader, who has a different learning style than my 3 children who preceded him in school. I used Apologia Science with the older 3, and had great results. Textbook learning is difficult for this son, and though he is in a regular textbook for English and Math, I wanted something different in science for him. I purchased these DVD's hoping they would be an alternative to textbook learning, and that my son would glean some good scientific information.
After watching each lesson, I have been very impressed at the amount of facts he is able to tell me about the lesson. We haven't done the study guide, but I am confident he is comprehending the material.
I would reccomend these dvd's.

I really wanted to love these videos and I tried so hard to find something in them to keep me watching, but I'm to the point I dread putting another one in. I so wish I had read a review on this before purchasing. I think the videos are done in an informative way; however, for someone not going into the medical field, they are just very dry and way too much information. My 5th and 8th grader (along with myself) have to MAKE ourselves watch these and I do a lot of fast forwarding. It is basically one man talking to 2 students who look bored to tears and he's talking and talking and talking. Yes, he does use his computer to show us different images, which is good, but he never stops talking; and as far as humorous, we haven't laughed once. The information is just too much unless you are going to be a doctor or nurse, and even then, it is so dry it's hard to stay with it. I have to constantly say, pay attention. It is not what I expected at all.
