Review 1 for Complete Guide to Caring for Aging Loved Ones
This book is very thorough
Date:February 7, 2011
This is the book I have been looking for. In addition to all the good information about services for seniors, this book addresses all the emotions felt by seniors and caregivers. It gives reasonable advice about handling particular situations. Maybe the best feature is the scripture at the beginning of each chapter, reminding me of how God looks at the care and respect we give our parents. When the day is long and the problems are mounting up, I need that reminder. I also need to remember all the love, time and money that was spent taking care of me growing up. Could I do any less for my parents? Thank you for this book.

Review 2 for Complete Guide to Caring for Aging Loved Ones

This is a compassionate look at how to deal with elderly loved ones who desire to live at home for as long as possible. It points out different steps to take to choose a care facility if needed and how to initiate the conversation with your loved one as well. I've sent a copy to my sister so we can hopefully all work together in this. I appreciate having a Christian resource like this to reference. Thank you to Focus on the Family.

Review 3 for Complete Guide to Caring for Aging Loved Ones

There are many "complete guides" to caring for loved ones; I've seen many of them, as I receive them from the publishers to review. This is one that I think really was a "complete guide" and having it from a Christian perspective (published with Focus on the Family) is a nice benefit. The reading is not complex or dry. You will be able to quickly find information to reference. A lot of other books may help you with the nitty-gritty specifics of finding adequate care or learning how to cope with your parent's lessened independence, but this book has a wonderful overview, offering support and resources. It's a must-have for your shelf to reference back to for life-issues as they arrive.
