According to Chris Ingram, President and Teaching Pastor of Living on the Edge, Christianity is in crisis. Even the most successful churches and programs are not producing mature followers of Christ who lead others to Christ and make disciples. He maintains that life-on-life missional discipleship is missing.

Perimeter Church, over 25 years ago, discovered their personal, life-on-life missional discipleship approach was responsible for the unique spiritual growth in members of the church. "INsourcing" tells its story and shows how they learned to bring discipleship back into the life of the church.

Pope and his wife started discipleship groups with a few committed people. After three years, these committed people started discipleship groups of their own. This model of discipleship suggests that the leader invite members to the group and facilitates group meetings that embrace five fundamental areas including Truth, Equipping, Accountability, Mission and Supplication. Small groups last three years at which time those who are ready will lead their own group.

After more than 25 years, Pope's discipleship model is proven to grow Christians spiritually in the faith and equip them to disciple others. Using examples of a typical small group meeting throughout the book, it's easy to see why this model works so well. Along with the spiritual teaching, a community forms. This community prays for each other, holds each other accountable and lives life together. It fosters unity within the church and develops a strong community of believers who love others.

"INsourcing" is a must-have resource for every pastor seeking to increase spiritual growth in his/her church. It is an invaluable resource for creating small groups in the church community.

Randy Pope is the pastor of Perimeter Church in Atlanta, Georgia. Perimeter has helped plant 28 churches in the Atlanta area and is a founding partner of Unite, a group of more than 120 churches from different denominations working together to bring kingdom transformation to Atlanta. Randy has recently established Life-on-Life Ministries, an organization committed to establishing life-on-life missional discipleship in churches worldwide.

Insourcing is an absolute must-read for any believer in Jesus Christ who wishes to grow and mature in his or her faith and impact. It is such an excellent, well-thought-out, wonderfully challenging, eye-opening, practical, thoroughly applicable, life-changing work. No stone is left unturned. It is no exaggeration whatsoever to say that this book left me hungry both to receive and then to give myself to the life-on-life discipleship that Jesus exemplified and that the author lays out so clearly. When I closed the book after reading the last page, I sadly thought, "I have really been spinning my wheels for pretty much the entirety of my life as a believer." I suspect that many of us feel this way; I believe God will greatly use this work to change that for those of us who have been shooting at a target without really knowing what our target should actually be, as the author described early on in the book. Thank you, Mr. Pope, for making Biblical discipleship, which has always seemed so elusive and ambiguous to me, so accessible and understandable. I am deeply grateful for this book; it cannot be recommended too highly. Do yourself and your church a favor by reading and re-reading Insourcing, and by placing it in the hands of your friends and church leadership.

This book was a slow read but the principle is very clear: one on one discipleship is a must in the world today. Churches plan and promote programs and activities but real spiritual growth and health can only be accomplished when individuals dive deep into the Word of God and share life together.

We must create or adopt a process where we consistently train believers to go out and make disciples. This is the purpose of the church

INsourcing: Bringing Discipleship Back to the Local Church is an excellent book. written by Randy Pope, the founding and current pastor of Perimeter Church in Atlanta, it aims to strengthen discipleship in local churches.

Pope is wonderful storyteller and writer. he writes wonderfully and with the heart of a pastor. practical and relevant stories are told alongside Biblical insight and the importance of discipleship is highlighted.

INsourcing tells the story of what Perimeter calls "life-on-life missional discipleship." this is an approach to discipleship that makes personal discipleship their number one aim. this is their goal.

discipleship and spiritual development is important; it's vital. this is a great book that tells the story of how one church did it... and it gives resources and ideas and thoughts on how discipleship can be brought back to the forefront of the Church's work in the world.

INsourcing is great. it's a must read for pastors and Christians who care about discipleship.
