From the very beginning I was hooked. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Leman for writing this book. I have a six year old son and 1 year old and have known that I wasn't doing something right with parenting my 6 year old son. As hard as I was trying to be my ways just weren't working. So for the last 1-2 years I have been seeking help like listening to moody radio and researching what books to read. Well as a busy mom I never had time for a book. But I had to get something. This book I bought in audible form. Thank you to all who made that possible. And I thank God for leading me to this one, it will change my relationship with my boys but most importantly their lives!

The advice in this book is excellent and practical. As a mom of three boys and having also grown up with three brothers, I felt this book really spoke to how to understand boys and why they do the things they do! Easy to read and lots of good wisdom to follow!

Dr. Kevin Leman is one of my favorite authors & this book once again proves why! From character development to setting the stage for a great relationship with your future daughter-in-law, this book covers a lot of topics! Our greatest area of stewardship is our children. You will be glad that you took the time to read this book & I believe your relationship with your son/sons will be deeper because of it.

This is a book full of reminders and new ideas. He's very complete in all areas. The author is encouraging and supportive of Moms in all stages of their son's development. Just might put some new 'Tricks' into your bag.

Dr. Leman has managed to be well-represented on my bookshelves. I have found all of his books extremely helpful and encouraging when it comes to parenting. Having read many of his books, I was thrilled to read this book. This one hit me at just the right time because I had been having some difficulty with my firstborn, just turned 4-year-old son. I was needing not only encouragment but some guidance and assurance that what I thought was a power play, really was just that.
This book was very special to me since it is all about a mom's relationship with her son. I loved how he reminded moms to let their boys be boys and not to force them to act like girls. They can be loud and rough, but they can also learn to do many of the household things that need to be done, as well. However, I need to remember to treat him like a boy who loves to be independent (within reason) and loves to please his mommy. This book showed me the heart of the little boy within. I also liked how Dr. Leman wrote about how a mom chooses their future daughter-in-law by determining her type of relationship with her son. That was eye-opening! I want a good daughter-in-law who is thoughtful, loving, wise with words, and isn't controlling. That means I need to work towards these things! Glad to learn this now while he's 4!
I think all moms with sons need to read this book. You will find it was time well-spent and you will see just how different that son of yours is from your daughter. He apparently wrote a book on a daddy's relationship with his daugther, which I will be buying for my husband!
