Houghton-mifflin The Gingerbread Doll
The year is 1930, and Rebecca and her family are celebrating their first Christmas on their farm in Wisconsin. More than anything Rebecca wants the beautiful porcelain doll she's seen in the store window, but she knows it's been a hard year and her parents have no money for fancy toys. Still, she is disappointed - until Mama brings out the funny little doll made of gingerbread, with yarn hair and scraps of cloth for a dress.

My Aunt got this book for me, and I loved it. The pictures are great, and so is the story. It's just so great. I have many dolls myself, and now I wished I had my own gingerbread doll. Over all it's great!
