It is a great book with lots of things to think about. I love the one essay in it called "The End For Which God Created The World." Jonathan Edwards is definitely a challenging read, but He raises your awareness of the greatness of our God. Praise God for theologians like Jonathan Edwards!

The books are excellent. The only negative about them is the small print. However, I think it does all Christians good to read from some of the classical authors, and Johnathan Edwards is one of my very favorites of all time. If one could imitate him, one would do well.

To learn the thoughts and insights of the giants of Christendom is always a treat. Edwards wrote about so many different aspects of Christianity that there is something here for everybody. If you are looking to sharpen your doctrinal approach, or just live more the way that God intended Edwards is your man.

This 2 volume work of Edwards is a priceless treasure. It is the capstone of my theological library. Apart from the Word of God, I find myself spending hours reading and meditating on Edward's grand and glorious view of a Sovereign God! It is worth the money and so much more. I will glean from this grand work for years to come. After the Bible, this is my first recommendation for anyone looking to dive into good biblical theology and be challenged spiritually and intellectually. Praise God for the life of Jonathan Edwards and his legacy to Christ's church.

I read "A disseration on the end for which God created the universe" the first week I had the book. It was amazing. It will not only make you read the Bible in a different light but live your life with true purpose.

This man is amazing- once he has you engaged in a particular piece, look out. I commented to my professor in seminary that I was having manifestations in my body reading Edwards. Once you let the fire of this Puritan pass through your soul, you come out like gold. "Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved."

I didnt agree with my friend on the other review because the best thing to know about this book is that it is a reprint of the ORIGINAL edition, and D.Martin Jones said:"that it is a must-read book". And you are buying a good book. Very different from the majority of the modern books(only water).

I have rated this book low because it is simply a reprint from an 1834 edition that was originally published in Great Britain with no recent scholarly work whatsoever. By the 1834 there had already risen differing accounts of Edward's writings, and some of my professors have suggested that this may not be the most accurate in-print today. I also noticed that the print format makes reading the text a chore. The price is unbeatable (especially when purchasing the book from CBD), but you really do get what you pay for.
