Bought it for my son. He finished it in 2 days.....couldn't put
it down. His only comment was that he wished the series
was longer (He read the final book 3 too).

Picking up where the first book in the trilogy left off, I was once again quickly drawn into the world of Aiden and his new friend, Antoinette, and the marvelous world of Alleble threatened by a sinister Paragor intent on freeing the infamous Wyrm Lord and overtaking Alleble. When Aiden left the Realm, he saw a horrifying sight; His best friend Robby's Glimpse--on Paragor's side. Since Aiden cannot go back to the Realm, he is desperate to find his friend and tell him the truth about King Eliam and the Realm, but they're seperated by more than a thousand miles. Meanwhile, Aiden meets Antoinette Lynn Reed, a bright and headstrong young lady who believes in the Scrolls of Alleble. Aidan discovers that Antoinette has been called to enter The Realm, so he asks for her help to find Robby's Glimpse before it is too late. When Antoinette crosses over into the Realm, she finds it in tormoil. Alleble's allies are inexplicably beginning to turn away, renouncing former ties with King Eliam and Alleble. Rumors are floating around that Paragor is searching for an ancient evil with which to crush Alleble once and for all. Antoinette embarks on a journey with Alleble's finest knights to find the source of the problem, but will they be enough to stop the Rise of the Wyrm Lord? Wayne Thomas Batson has done it again with Rise of the Wyrm Lord. He ties in spiritual truths with humor and action to make an epic story that will draw the most reluctant readers in. The characters were very well developed and each one was completely unique; From a hammer-meister to a herb-master, it's in here. This will delight young and old in another action-packed adventure from the Realm. My only squabble is that it had a cliff-hanger ending, so beware! You might just have to get the next book at the same time.

Rise of the Wyrm Lord was a great book. I liked The Door Within better than this one, but it is still a good read. One of the things that I disliked about the book was the character Antoinette. Others may like her, I didnt because she seemed nothing like her glimpse (her twin), Gwenne. I did like that Aiden (the main character from The Door Within) was still in this book. The story would go back to him every now and then and that made the book a lot more exciting. I also liked how, even though they were in different worlds, Aiden and Antoinette were working together to help their friend Robby come over to the side of King Eliam. Overall, the book is very good and you should read it even if you didnt like The Door Within! In the end, it is all the pieces together that make the pie.

The Rise of the Wyrm lord by Wayne Thomas Batson is the second book in this intriguing trilogy. In this book Aidan and Antoinette are going to school like normal teenagers Adian witnesses to the wayward girl, Antoinette and she believes him. Then, she starts hearing things. Is it Paragor or The One True King? This wonderful Christian fantasy is a wonderful sequel to The Door Within.

I thought this book was a step up from the first. Some of the concepts were truly creepy. And one scene had me lost in the story, which doesnt happen often for me.

Rise of the Wyrm Lord is my favorire book of the Door Within trilogy because of the introduction of Antoinette into the story. And the end of the story employs the traditional methods of second books in trilogies by leaving the readers in high suspense so they will freak until they read the next book. And Mr. Batson spun his ending much better than other books I've read.

Rise of the Wyrm Lord was immediately more interesting than its predessesor. It snagged my interest and carried me to the end, though it struggled with the same problems The Door Within did.The allegory was much more satisfying and well-hidden than The Door Within's, but the similarities to Middle-Earth have grown. Yewland is very much like Tolkien's Lothlorien, and though its inhabitants were never called "elves" they most certainly were. Just a well-educated guess, but the author's "Blue Mountain Folk" probably resemble dwarves in everything but appearance. I'd very much like to see Batson take the time to create a storyworld that is completely original, because his talent is very promising. In The Door Within I liked the Mortiwraiths the best, this time around it's the Seven Sleepers--which are basically enormous demon-wolves. one scene in particular where Kearn and Antionette are swordfighting was very gripping. I'd like to see more of these types of things and less of others.Rise of the Wyrm Lord had a stronger plot than its predessesor. I'd definitely pick up The Final Storm after reading it.

Antoinette Reed has always been smart. Shes in honors everything at school, and shes been a follower of King Eliam since she was seven. When she sees the artwork of new kid at school, Aidan Thomas, she realizes that he, also, knows about The Realm. They become friends, and when they recognize that she has been called to The Realm, Aidan asks her to look for the glimpse of his friend, Robby, who he fears is in league with Paragor. When she enters The Realm, Antoinette plunges into adventures like shes only dreamed of. Though she is named Twelfth Knight on a crucial, diplomatic mission to Yewland, she loses sight of the objective and deviates from her assignment, raising all the stakes. She goes after Kearn, Robbys glimpse, attempting to turn him away from his glittering path of destruction and to King Eliam. When Paragor releases the capstone of his plan, The Realm is plunged into a fierce battle for survival. In this, his second book, Mr. Batsons writing style has matured and the entire flow of the writing is of a higher caliber than its prequel. Throughout the whole book, the action and suspense only intensifies. Be forewarned the book ends at a monstrous cliffhanger. Be sure to have the sequel, The Final Storm, on hand when you finish!

Warning, spoilers ahoy!I would definitely say that book 2 in The Door Within Trilogy is cool. Here, Aidan (main hero who has been to Alleble and become a Knight in the service of King Eliam) meets Antoinette, the human double of the girl he *liked a lot* in Alleble. At first he doesn't recognize her because she is part of the 'trench coat clan' and has dyed her hair red. That problem is quickly solved when they start sword-fighting in her backyard and shebloodies his nose. After learning out all she can from him about Alleble, Antoinette is surprised to see Aelic, (Aidan's Glimpse double) in a brief encounter in which he orders her to come to Alleble because she's been called. So! Antoinette promptly enters The Door Within and crosses the long bridge to Alleble, where she is chosen as the Twelfth Knight to go on a dangerous mission to the realm of Yewland, where Queen Illaria reigns and has begun threatening that her woodland kingdom of brave archers will join the ruthless and deadly Paragor and separate from Alleble. All that Antoinette can think about, after a few harrowing scrapes in Yewland, is what Aidan told her before she left Earth: his best friend Robby's Glimpse double had joined the enemy Paragor, which meant that his human double was in grave danger! And Antoinette just saw Robby's glimpse, a menacing young fellow called Kearn! At the end of the book, we are faced with a troubling decision: will Antoinette stay in safety or will she pursue Kearn in hopes of rescuing him??? Find out in The Rise Of the Wyrm Lord, Book Two in The Door Within Series!

A book by Wayne Thomas Batson, this book is the second book of a 3 book series. The first is The Door Within and the last is the Final Storm. I recommend all three for all readers.Aiden Thomas has returned from his death-defying adventures in Alleble and its time to start school. He meets but Antoinette, a girl extraordinaire. But wait! Robby, his best friend from Maryland is joining Paragor and his evil henchmen! Can Antoinette save him before he kills her? Even darker storms are on the horizon, rumors have it that the ancient Wyrm Lord has awoken! Paragor has brought to life a nightmare unheard of... The Rise of the Wyrm Lord!

The Rise of the Wyrm Lord is the second book in a trilogy written by Christian author Wayne Thomas Batson. The setting of this book is The Realm, as well as some locations in Colorado where Aidan and Antoinette go to school. The Realm is still the beautiful place it was, but there is still evil in the most beautiful of places. The Wyrm Lord, a destructive monster under the command of Paragor, has been awakened, as well as the Seven Sleepers, creatures of lore who have been asleep for thousands of years. The theme of this book are generally the same as the first book, redemption through Christ is the only way to heaven and eternal life with God.The plot of this book is somewhat similar to The Door Within. One main difference is that Aidan's friend, Antoinette, is the one to travel to The Realm. She, along with 11 other Glimpses, including Aidan's Glimpse, go on a journey to convince Yewland to keep their alliance with Alleble and King Eliam. But again, Paragor will go too all means possible to stop the group from accomplishing their goal. There are a range of new characters, from Lady Merewen to the Seven Slepers to the Wyrm Lord himself. But you can be sure of one thing: that this book will leave you ready for the next one.The characterization, again, is done perfectly. This time, the main character is Antoinette, Aidan's friend at school and the Glimpse of Aidan's friend in The Realm. She has believed since she was seven, but never thought she would have her chance to travel to The Realm to do King Eliams bidding. She travels to The Realm and is anxious to get started on her journey. Just like Aidan, she experiences many things that she will never forget. Some of the major minor characters are Aelic, Aidan's Glimpse, and the traveling party.Overall, I thought this was a wonderful 2nd book and could not wait for the last one. I would highly recommend this series to anyone of any age looking for a good Christian book. One word of advice: read book 1 first!!
