Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8If I Could Ask God Anything is an incredible resource for families and those serving in children's ministry. Kids are definitely curious when it comes to God. There are so many questions and answers shared inside this book encouraging a dialog with kids that is on their level. This book could definitely be used as a family devotional source as it not only answers the questions, but shares scripture relevant to the question and sums it up in a sentence that makes it easy for a child to remember as well. The topics range from the Bible to prayer to being a Christian. The purpose for If I Could Ask God Anything is summed up best by the author, Kathryn Slattery, "Most important, this book is written with the aim of helping young readers establish a deep and lasting personal relationship with a living, loving God through faith in Jesus Christ." I highly recommend this book for parents, teacher, and everyone serving in children's ministry. just recieved this book from boozsneeze and finished it. I really enjoyed this book! A lot of the time when we get children's books they tend to have "fluffy" answers with the truth mixed in there, but no power behind it. This book rather looks at the question and then goes to the Bible and gives the answer from there, strait as it is without trying to "soften" the answers up for kids. I love how honestly the book answers the questions, hell is real, heaven is real. The Bible is the main support of every answer, which is great! the one thing I searched for and found at the end of the book was the author sharing a prayer of asking Jesus to forgive your sins and come and live in your heart. This book is great, its a must have for anyone with children or who works with children. I will be passing this book strait to those in ministry with the children at my church. Very well done and a must read!!

If I Could Ask God Anything by Kathryn Slattery is a children book and I would think can range from ages of 3 to 12 mattering on how curious your child is (though I know some new Christians that would really benefit from this book too!). It is a wonderful resource for all those questions that have big lofty answers but you need to explain to a child in a non threating or confusing way. This book though geared for children, is not for children... it is for mom or dad or some other adult to read to a child or read and then explain to the child. As such it is set up well, but no pictures to speak of. The questions range from the mundane to the VERY deep but are all answered as if you are going to talk to a small child (I am sure my 4 1/2 year old would understand this whole book... even the answer to "If God loves people, Why do bad things happen?"). Though this book is geared to children I think it would be a great resource for people that are new Christians or often work with new Christians. I am a member of something called BooksSneeze and request books I think I will like, read them, and then get to write a review for them on what I think of them. I am not paid to do this, though I do get a free book. I am also not told what to write so this review is only my reaction to the book and doesn't have to be positive... though in this case it is.

Kathryn Slattery has written an incredible resource for parents, Sunday School teachers, church workers, or anyone desiring help in teaching children about God. If I Could Ask God Anything: Awesome Bible Answers for Curious Kids is a 207 page book divided into the following 11 sections:God JesusThe Holy SpiritThe BibleChristianityPrayerThe ChurchChristian Seasons and HolidaysBeing a Christian Here and NowBeing a Christian Forever and EverBig QuestionsEach section follows the same format. At the top of each page there is a question followed by an explanation with scripture references. The explanations are brief but thorough enough not to confuse. And the wording is simple, yet clear. It is written to a child reader and comes across as a gentle conversations between an adult and child.I enjoyed reading through this book. The author used examples in some of her answers that I wasnt familiar with so I was able to get a new perspective on some things. I appreciated the author tackling some of the harder questions of the faith. The information in the book was biblically sound. This would even be an easy introduction to the faith for a new believer. I give this book 5 stars. Thanks to Thomas Nelson Publishers for the opportunity to review this book. If I Could Ask God AnythingAwesome Bible Answers for Curious KidsBy Kathryn SlatterySlattery has done an excellent job addressing many of the questions children have about Christianity. The book is divided into sections that include: God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Bible, and prayer. There are also sections titled: Christian Seasons and Holidays, Being a Christian Here and Now, Being a Christian Forever and Ever, and Big Questions. As an adult reading this book many of these questions are things I havent thought about since I was much younger. This book is both an excellent reference to answer childrens questions and a good refresher for adults. All the questions are answered well and backed up with verses from the Bible. The book does not cater to one denominations beliefs, but simply encompasses Christianity as the group of believers in Jesus that we should be. I highly recommend If I Could Ask God Anything.http://www.thomasnelson.com/consumer/product_detail.asp?sku=1400316022&title=If_I_Could_Ask_God_Anything&author=Kathryn_Slattery
