Tyndale House Wrestling with God: How Can I Love a God I'm Not Sure I Trust?

Most people, even devout Christians, experience doubts about God. When it comes to trusting God with our daily lives, we secretly fear that God really isn't looking out for us. Author James Denison speaks directly to people whose disappointments have left them unable to trust God. Discover sound scriptural answers to questions like: How do I know God exists? What about innocent suffering? What should I believe about creation and evolution? Why pray? The book also includes a discussion guide, making it ideal for both personal and group study.

this book is more for those who are coming out of atheism, or new to Christ from the world. It wasn't what I personally needed at the time I read it, but I know there is a place for it. It might also be helpful for those who are thinking of leaving the Faith.

The book does a 5-star method of identifying questions that exist in people's mind, but lacks on answers to these questions.

Denison has the rare ability to make the very complex understandable and to present it in a manner which is beneficial for both scholars and inquirers to Christianity. While he does not needlessly castigate those who have views which are different from his, the author is not afraid to be intellectually honest in sharing where very real differences occur between various faiths. Those who read this book will see how it serves as a complement to Lee Strobel's highly successful works, "The Case for Christ" and "The Case for Faith." Denison, like Strobel, is able to allow the reader to see his own personal struggles in his spiritual pilgrimage and to learn about the evidence which made him a true believer. As Denison says so eloquently, our beliefs for or against the existence of God require faith. The weight of the evidence clearly points to a sovereign God who created our universe, who is active in it, and who provided salvation through the unique God/man known as Jesus Christ.
