BMG Angels Love Donuts, DVD

A comedy about dying that will change the way you live, and renew your faith. On an otherwise ordinary day, prominent businessman John A. Money's life is thrown into chaos when a quirky donut-eating Angel of Death appears and announces that he's come to take John to the Pearly Gates. With just 24 hours until his departure - John looks at life, his family and his faith through a fresh set of eyes. Dove-approved. Approx. 90 minutes.

It is a wake up call, that every person should step back once in a while, an take an over all account to their life, were they are going, what they are doing, and are they staying true to the right path way.

The serious topic of the movie shows how death or the living of life without God can come together in a very meaninful way by using a little humor.

This is a very slow moving film, with little action. Theplot is boring. I could only watch about 45 minutes of itand I had to shut off the VCR. The actor used for the angel was upsetting to me.He acted like an average human being. I believe theBible portrays angels as majestic beings who glorify analmighty God.

I really liked this movie. It is hard to express how it impacted me. The acting wasn't as refined as some, but it was something else that impacted me. The story too isn't it. The music is great!!! But what got to me is the message. I am still thinking about it.I pray God will use it to touch others and draw us all into His family and bring others to be with Jesus forever and ever.I suppose I gave it a 5 only because it isn't refined... but other than that it is a keeper movie and its message is great. The lyrics of Chris Rice's songs coupled with the message make it clear.Bottom line... I like it and recommend it.

I had a chance to watch an advanced copy of the DVD last year thanks to some church members involved with the project. My wife and laughed our way through the movie and were touched by the simple Gospel message it delivers. The story behind the movie is every bit as exciting. Angels Love Donuts started off as a play called "Closure" written and performed by an all-volunteer community theater troop which operates in Dallas. Most of the actors in the film also appeared in the original play. In other words, this film is the culmination of a labor of love by a group of dedicated Christians who gave God their all without the benefit of big studio backing or high-powered Hollywood investors. Angels Love Donuts, then, is three wonderful things wrapped into one package. It is a clean, funny, heart-warming family film. It is also a loving and gentle yet unapologetic evangelism tool. Most of all, it is a testimony to what happens when a group of average Christians get together and use their gifts to honor God. And for all these reasons, I heartily recommend this film.
