This is a very good book. I underlined passages all the way through it. Even as I read through Unburdened, I felt my understanding of God and His ways and my trust increase. I began to feel lighter and less burdened. I really do want to live that way. This book left me with a lot to chew on.A free review copy of this book was provided to me by Tyndale House Publishers in order to write this review. All opinions are my own.

Do you feel like life has got a hold of you and is pulling you deeper and deeper under it's surface? In the bible, God promised us all the freedom from having to ever worry again , what do you think life would be like if you believed in the word?Unburdened - Chris Tiegreen -2010Thank you to Tyndale Publishers .How would you feel if all those worries, pains and problems that have been holding you back or that you are experiencing , went "poof" and disappeared forever ? How would your life be then, would you be able to go out and experience more and place all your worries with God ? Author Chris Tiegreen brings together a good study guide to how to let God take care of your worries and let you live life with ease so that you may never again have to worry about those sleepless nights of tossing and turning , those horrible little anxious butterflies that flutter around in your tummy or those panic attacks that some of us including me work ourselves into a tiny state. Unburdened is written in a way that everyone including non-christians can relate to with everyday examples to support his writings , one thing that I liked about Unburdened is that it teaches us not only to give God our worries but also how to cope with them and how to get rid of that chip growing on our shoulders."The only way to live an unburdened life -the one , take it or leave it, all or nothing way- is to actually let go of what we've been carrying and pick up a singular passion for God".Not only does Chris Tiegreen's book show us the way of being unburdened and lightening on load but also in the same process how to have a stronger and build a relationship with God that filled with passion and the holy spirit blazing through you soul"."It is one thing to say Jesus is living within us , but it is another to let Jesus live through us".

This book came to me at one of the lowest times in my life. Looking for relief from the burdens that consumed me. Did it change my life? No, but helped me see things they way they really are. Living the Unburdened life means giving up self and handing it all over to God. Trusting Him when you do not want too. Chris Tiegreen does a wonderful job in getting to the root of the problem. The various types of trust. Why we seem to struggle with letting go. Reminding us that what we really want is a lighter load and not the unbearable weight we were never created to bear. This is a book worth reading. Preparing you in helping others or like me needing to understand the simple truth that I need to truly trust God in all things. Tyndale House Publishers has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased review.

Chris Tiegreen has written a wonderful book. I hadn't read any of his work before and this one proved to be a great way to get acquainted. His style is so personable and unpretentious in Unburdened that the reader may forget he isn't sitting across the table engaging the author in quiet conversation. Early on Tiegreen states he's no expert, however, someone who has been somewhere and comes back to tell me about it comes closer to the person I want to talk with than some of the experts I've read. That's the strongest point for me in this book. He's lived what he's writing about and knows how to be unburdened. The main point Tiegreen makes is so simple it's hard to accept. I kept expecting something more. You know---the list of hoop jumps I need to add so my life would become less burdened. I mean, after all my burdens surely must require more than the simple truth this author covers so well. As it turns out I have made something simple very difficult. Please notice, as the author so aptly pointed out, simple and easy are not the same at all. But, for people like me he does discuss briefly some of things he found helpful for himself as an idea generator for the reader. This short review just cannot do justice to the truth Chris Tiegreen has written. Please do yourself a favor and read this book. It'll help you and you will have met a new friend. Tiegreen divides his book seemingly into two sections; the first few chapters discuss our burdens, why we have them, and how we create them; the last few chapters discuss how to lay those burdens at the feet of Jesus and actually walk away from them [the burdens, NOT the responsibility].Tiegreen reminds his readers of Jesus' teachings concerning worry and concern. He points out quite often [to drive home his point] that we all "believe" Jesus teachings, and yet we live as if they mean nothing to us or are meant for someone else. Unburdened does not provide a hands-off attitude towards avoiding responsibility or the pat everything will be alright attitude. Nor does it provide an out from serious issues we all face. Tiegreen provides an easy, systematic approach to learning how to trust God with your burdens and letting Him carry them. Just like His Word describes. The key to an unburdened life is allowing the Spirit of God to not only give you strength but to BE your strength. What can we do aside from Him? It is a simple concept, really. But very difficult for us to employ because we want to be in some sort of control of certain aspects of our lives. Tiegreen does an excellent job of making us realize the need to release control and the effects it will have on our lives.I highly recommend this book to everyone, regardless of whether you have come to the point in your life where you truly rely on God for all your strength or not. There are wonderful reminders of how awesome our Savior is. We could all use a refresher in turning over the stuff to God. Let go and let God!I would like to thank Tyndale House Publishers for a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own and I was not required to write a positive review.
