This movie is sl-ooow. Bad acting, Plot not that interesting. They tried, but failed. We threw it away after we watched it. We will not watch again or lend it to anyone else. There are other better quality Christian movies that would be a better purchase.

If this movie was made by amateurs, it was excellent.
However if made by professionals, it was very slow. The dialogues between the police, the criminals, and the 2 young men were terrible.
The dad said he was trying with his daughter - but his actions did not show that. eg. Why didn't he take the boys and go to the Science Fair?
The only good parts were when they talked about the Lord - those parts were very professional.
Overall it wasn't worth the money.

The Penny was an interesting concept, but I felt the acting didn't hold my interest. Scenes changed frequently and I started to get tired of watching the two idiot criminals interact. About two-thirds of the way into the movie, it started to get interesting, but you have to wait until the final scene for any real action or drama. I may have to watch the movie a few more times to see if I will like it better. While I appreciated the father's calm temperament, he seemed a little unnatural never raising his voice during stressful events. There are life lessons within this film, such as obeying authority, gratitude, consequences, healing, and trusting God.

I love the way that this is a Christ centered movie but it does NOT force Christ down your throat!!! Also I really liked the fact this movie gradually "UNFOLDS". So after watching it for 30 minutes - you have NOT figured out the entire plot of the movie. This movie really grabbed my attention and interest - and DID NOT LET GO!!!!

It has taken a long time for Christian faith-based movies to take their stand amongst the great ones. The Penny is that movie which takes us beyond the pews and into the world, with a message that will give you renewed faith that God is in control. This is a film you don't want to miss!
