I'm so thankful that Nonna kept a diary and shared her story as painful as that must have been. The book was well written and easy to read though terribly hard to fathom how human beings can mistreat others in this way. It amazes me that people can carry on and move forward in these situations. Nonna and her mother were very strong individuals and I think everyone needs to hear their story.

Her story is truly amazing. Although it was hard to read at times because of the things she went through and witnessed, her story should be known and could easily be a movie. Awesome true story.

We loved using this ebook along with our other curricula while we studied WW2. It really helped my children to understand the atrocity of the holocaust, and about extending forgiveness in a situation that seems unforgivable.

Taken from her secret diaries, Nonna Bannister tells her story many, many years later of her life in the Holocaust. An amazing story of survival in the concentration camps of Nazi Germany. Weaving between stories of her time as a prisoner and present day as she recalls those memories of long ago, this book will keep you reading. I greatly enjoyed this read.
