DedicatedLodi, WisconsinAge: 55-65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5The Scripture text and politicsMarch 28, 2011DedicatedLodi, WisconsinAge: 55-65Gender: maleQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5In spite of the ecclesiastical and academic politics down through the ages, God has indeed preserved His written word for us today. The question is which translation can I rely upon. This Christian believer grew up on King James and knew it quite well, then switch to the NIV. The NIV never set right, but I was not about to change back to the old English. The result? I suffered that political broadside upon my faith in Jesus Christ for decades. Thanks to Floyd Nolan Jones and his book WHICH VERSION IS THE BIBLE, I am no longer ignorant, but confident about which text is the correct one as a result of his excellent work written into this priceless book.

jason5 Stars Out Of 5December 4, 2006jasonVery thorough book on how the Bible was translated and also the reliability of the old texts from whence it came. I am a strong believer that the KJV is the one true Bible and God's holy word. Dr. Jones'book gives us comparisons of the KJV versus other translations. So much scripture is completely left out of other translations that appear in the KJV. To say that the other translations are also the word of God would say that God is confused on the final word that he wanted us to have. A person will not find scripture in another version that is not presented in the KJV. I already had faith in the KJV, but Dr. Jones has strengthened that faith even further.

echo3Dallas, TXAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Reliability of the WordDecember 20, 2014echo3Dallas, TXAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book is a must read for serious students of the Word. Dr. Jones documents the history of the translations and revisions and exposes the motives for those who have attempted to distort Scripture. God has provided the assurance of the reliability of the Word and Dr. Jones has given us the information to discern Satan's attacks on God's truth. I didn't properly understand the disputes over claims to which manuscripts were most accurate. This book is an eye-opener! Thank you, Dr. Jones.

richPAAge: Over 65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5"Fundamental"December 28, 2010richPAAge: Over 65Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5It seems the use of a version/update of a language not used when God's Word was written down (The Bible) would be seen as a non-starter by anyone. The issue is what does man (hunman being) desire in his flesh?......of course, that's pride in self and the reason for "Original Sin." There is nonthing new under the sun.....men/women want their ears waxed by what they want to hear!
