Zondervan Not a Fan: Becoming a Completely Committed Follower of Jesus

If Jesus were to sit down with you right now and have a DTR (Define the Relationship) conversation, how would you respond? Are you truly his follower or just a fan-or perhaps someone who doesn't even care about the difference? Not a Fan invites you to make Jesus not merely the object of your admiration, but the very center of your life. Through biblical teaching, anecdotes, and humor, Kyle Idleman explores what it means to truly be a follower of Christ. He also shares several powerful Not a Fan stories--testimonies from fellow followers who turned to Jesus. Don't miss this wake up call to radical discipleship!

Mr Idleman points out clearly who a Christian is supposed to be according to the revelation of GOD's Word! This book, when used along side a Bible, is a great resource to help people examine themselves and the true status of their faith, their relationship with CHRIST!

When we hear the word "fans," we probably think of spectators watching a football game or other sport. But we are called to be followers of Jesus, not merely fans. This book describes the differences between fan and follower.

Another serious challenge to believers to die to self. This book is similar to "Radical" and "Crazy Love". I intend to use this book and video in a small group. I especially appreciated the author's sense of humor! (To include humor in such a deep book is brilliant.) This book should be required reading for any believer wanting a more committed walk. I will read it again and again.

This book really makes you think and take a hard look at your relationship with Christ. Hard to swallow at times, if you are being honest with yourself and God, but oh so worth it. Take the chance and change your life and get close to God

This book surely helps one to discover that to truly know Jesus one cannot just sit along the sidelines waiting for someone else to show the way.

Both the book and the DVD present some key factors to consider when we examine our faith, leading us to ask whether or not our faith is making a difference in how we lead our lives. Kyle's style of writing as well as the way he presents in the DVD is both engaging and natural. There are times that the book feels a bit repetitive, but overall it is a very good read. We are using this study with our LifeGroup, viewing one 30 minute segment per week, discussing the questions that come with the guide, and then reading a couple of chapters a week at home. You should be prepared for quite a bit of repetition in the book, even a lot of the same anecdotes, but there is also some extra detail in the book that make it worth reading, adding to and reinforcing the points from the video.

When I bought this book it just seemed interesting and I wanted to read more to help people around me and for me to be able to tell between fans and true followers. But then God showed me how lukewarm I really was, how I wasn't a fan, but I wasn't a follower either. I truly didn't think I was as bad as I was, now I am furthering my walk and I think everyone should read this book its amazing.

This book is a very good book to read and find out what type of Christian you feel you are. It was written in a way it could be understood, it was very clear, and one that makes a mind work.

This is the book that separates the fiction from non-fiction, the real thing and the actor, the live or memorex, and the mask and the transparent.
No longer am I going to church to just do church. God has a purpose and design for us and His people and just going through the motions, isn't it. Either we get in the game or we are losing it on the bench and we don't even know it. We need to be part of the solution or we are only part of the problem. In a nutshell, a picture of Christians and non-christians, a true Christian ought to be able to stand out not because we have seen them at church or because they carry a bible. But because their life is a proof of His LOVE!

Kyle has done an outstanding job of 'hitting the nail on the head' with many folks in churches today. After reading this book four times - I know that I will never be a fan again! Thank you for being obedient to Christ's call to write such a book for this generation of Christian followers!

I enjoyed the book but it's a little scary and hard to really
define my relationship with Jesus. It really makes you
think about it and be concerned that you don't want to be
just a fan. Being a follower is what we have to be, and it's
not easy.

This is absolutely the best study I have ever done. It really challenges you and makes you think about your walk with Jesus. It is done so "down to earth" with excellent analogies. The movie was excellent too and a must see. It brings it all together. Cast was so realistic. I cannot say enough good about this series. I have bought it for friends and recommended it to many others. Watched Kyle Idelman's movie on Christmas too and it was so real and brought a different perspective to the story of Jesus birth. Kyle is truly blessed by The Lord with the talents he has been given to share these truths. Thank you for challenging me to be a follower.

I am enjoying this book so far. It challenges Christians to forego complacency and truly chase after God. I appreciate his conversational style, his lively examples, and his sense of humor. Everyone should read this book and learn how to live faith and not just religion.
