Barbour Publishing A Wedding Renewal in Sweetwater,Texas - eBook

Sylvia yearns to feel loved and cherished by her husband, Wilson-just like the heroines in the romance novels she reads. She begins making changes, but her husband just isn't getting the message. So she starts a Proverbs 31 makeover. Wilson is totally confused by his wife's strange behavior and frustrated by the timing. Business is booming and he's up for a promotion. When Sylvia plans a big anniversary party, things start spiraling out of control. Can he and Sylvia rekindle the romance, or is too little too late?

I gave this book 4/5 stars. I thought the character development was well done. You could really see the main characters personality through the conversations written. What I did not like was the overly dramatic soap opera like story line. It just felt like a fake book. I like to read a book where you put it down feeling like the characters could be real people. I just could not relate to the women in this story. I am not saying don’t read this book just that it was not to my personal liking.
I would like to thank the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.

My Thoughts:
I love the idea of this book. I appreciate books that build marriages and give practical advice for growing godly marriages. This book was full of thoughts, ideas and characteristics to help a marriage that might be struggling or might need refreshing.
I did have a hard time connecting fully with the characters and really getting interested in the story itself. It isn't where I am in my marriage and so it was difficult for me to engage with the story. The characters were not deep enough for me and I struggled to get a full sense of what they were feeling or wanting.
Kim O'Brien is a new author for me. I will have to try another one of her books to get a better feel for her writing style.
